I'm starting a new project and could do with some advice- I need some Hindu priests in 28mm. I had assumed that I'd find some in Pulp ranges, but no luck- has anyone come across any?
I also need a statue of Krishna that is 3" to 4" high and can be painted to look old. I've had a look on eBay- not seen anything yet that screams "buy me", any suggestions?
Lastly- Indian villagers?
Thanks very much for your help!

I live in Muswell Hill; if there was a new age shop it'd charge 50 quid each! ;-)
However I have just seen some promising small resin(?) statues on fleabay...

And I see Eureka do some villagers. Still no priests, though!
-
Someone definitely does Tibetan Monks in 28mm. Poke around.
-
Tibetans aren't quite right; buddhists. I need long beards and long hair! :-)

Lastly- Indian villagers?
Eureka Miniatures has a range of Indian villagers:

Pulp Figures Mad Guru may not be quite what you're looking for for a priest:
https://pulpfigures.com/products/view/148
Pulp Figures used to have a set of Bhuddist monks, but they seem to be out of production. All with shaved heads, so not the hairy Hindus you requested in any case...

I believe Eureka has some packs of Indian civilians and you might try Foundry's Indian mutiny range.
-
a little slow on the draw there
-
Since Eureka's been mentioned already, maybe search for Sikh Wars as well?
Foundry has a particularly nice range, civilians included: LINK (https://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collections/sikh-wars-1846-46-1848-49). Beware, though, these are rather tiny models, akin to other early Perry ranges.
EDIT: Oh well, too slow, only adding a link then. :D
-
Thanks the Villagers look pretty good; useful for a camp. Foundry I fear that, whilst nice, they will indeed be a little small.

Just for reference then, they're the same size as Warlord Games' Roman civilians or Foundry's (Perry-sculpted) Imperial Romans.
-
If you think the Foundry figures are too small, you may find the Eureka civilians are also a bit wee.
-
For the holy men, try Indus Miniatures, REL 01. Indian religeous men. They're slim in a half-starved kind of way.

How about Iron Duke Miniatures?

The wagon drivers, water bearers and camel drovers all look handy types.

I sincerely hope this is a Runequest project :)

Hi !
For the Hindu gods statues , try Amazon !!!
-
Simon, did you see the Perrys arab civilians?
They might be easy to transform to indian civilians.
At least some.

Thanks all- some useful suggestions there. The Empress Oxen really are the dogs bullocks (I'll get me hat).
Lead Asbestos- no I'm looking at Classical Indian; Poros and whatnot.
Best, Simon

I have to second Dave.P and suggest Indus Miniatures Religious Men (http://indusminiatures.mybigcommerce.com/indian-religious-men-6-pack/). Although they may not be in the poses you like, and they are holding weapons, they are definitely Hindu. If necessary you could do a hand swap if you don;t want them carrying weapons cut
-
You could try Westwind Miniatures, Romanov Holiday, Mad Monks, they do look Very Mad, if you cut off the weapons/Cross and replace with hands, they do not have hoods on the robes, very hairy, and again very mad looking, plus only £6 for 4.

There is a local gift shop that sells Indian votive charms of various sizes from about 1" to 6" and larger. What do you think the statue should look like?
-
Indus Miniatures does fanatics...

Naked Viking Berserkers might also be an option. Or look at Foundry's Spartans. Some are bearded, nude or semi-nude.
-
Foundry also does Egyptian priests praying. Only they are bald and wearing robes.
