Title: Setting the East Ablaze V2 - typo
Post by: Ignatieff on July 17, 2018, 07:03:39 PM
I am extremely indebted to Sir Rodney Ffing for pointing out a potentially confusing typo in the rules.  Specifically in table 10.7 where it has a line saying 'off table artillery' and showing a max range of 80".  This is incorrect and from a much earlier version of the rules.  I please snow blindness.  Please strike this out.  Off table works like this for the avoidance of doubt:

Firstly, there is no range limit for off table, it can be planned to land anywhere on the board, and there is no short and effective range.

So, a live example:  British want to fire HE at a preplanned spot.  Their class is C2, meaning they only have to throw a 3,4,5 or 6 to land the round.  If it was opportunity fire, they have to throw two over their class, meaning they need a 4,5 or 6 to land the shell.  Assume the shell lands.  Place the burst circle over the spot the shell landed.  Throw two dice.  Assume they throw a 6,7 or 8 (highest probability on two D6 are 7s or 8s), so it lands spot on. It's a 150mm gun, so anything under a 3" radius is hit.  If its infantry or cavalry, the figure directly under the hit point is killed.  Everyone else saves on a 5,6 on 1D6.  If its a vehicle, throw on the heavy weapons table using the field gun line.

Apologies for any confusion
