Hello!
As a long time fan of GRR Martins books, I decided to invest in the CMON kickstarter last fall. I got the game in the beginning of the month, and I've started painting a little bit.
I am very bad at finishing projects, so I have decided to paint this in a quite simple way. My plan is to fully paint and base all front ranks, but leave the back ranks black with rudimentary basing. This means I won't have to paint too many duplicate figures.
I have started painting a 30pts force for both Stark and Lannister/Clegane, and when those are fully finished, i will paint units from the other houses.
I consider the Starks posted here finished, apart from the bases.
The Lannisters are unfinished test models.

Great start so far! How do the figures look in person? I am still waiting on my stuff as I got it through my LGS and they don't seem to have it in yet...

They look really good for not being resin. I've pulled all my guys out to look at them and i'm really impressed with the quality they are achieving with PVC. That will be a painting project I will start next year after I finish a lot more Rackham.

Timbor: Some of the models are very small. There is an issue with scale, in my opinion. Casting quality and detail is fine, though.
Some more WIP.
First a Crannogman Warden.
Then some almost finished Lannisters, including the alternate sculpt for Gregor Clegane.

Do you mean by this that they are inconsistent?
I was wondering how well they might fit in with Dark Sword's metal miniatures.

I got in on this one too but I'm not even close to putting a brush to them yet. I'm also liking the details on them but I hear you on the duplicate sculpts for the rank and file. It always bothers me painting the same figure again and again. I'm probably going to unload most of my duplicates onto ebay or trade them some time.

Yes, they are a bit inconsistent. The Bolton Cutthroats are slightly but noticeably smaller than other units, and the women are perhaps a bit too small and thin. Heroes are perhaps in general a bit large.
Sadly, I don't have any Dark Sword figures to compare them with.

Thank you for the reply. I brought up the Dark Sword metal range because I was under the impression that company was sculpting the minis for the game, and it seemed reasonable to expect that they would be compatible with the existing metal ones, which would make them useful outside the board game. The inconsistency you refer to, on the other hand, is, in any event, disappointing. Presumably several sculptors' work is featured, rather than the two or three, including Tom Meier, who sculpted the metals.
