Hi all,
back again with a new project. I figure this would fare well in either post apoc or pulp.
In a post apocalyptic time, even river dwellers need transport and protection. This scratch built piece is constructed from cardboard, foam core, wooden dowels, straws, craft sticks, twine, wire bitz, model car engines, toy car tires, a t-shirt cut down for the deck canopy, paint, time and love.
This unit is a self propelled barge, powered by twin engines with a v-drive....has a moderate hold, or if desired, a deck, the skiff can be used with or without the pilot house. the hold can be used as cover for attacks...or crates can be utilized on the deck to provide cover. there is an open upper deck to the pilot house as well. i'm sure guns can be mounted ...and the canopy is removable as well.

That is a lovely piece of construction. Very realistic looking and beautifully weathered.
That Chaos Warrior gets around though. He's popped up in a number of different threads on LAF ;D
-
Love this. The engines and ropes are particularly good. Great weathering.
-
Impressive and exceptionally well detailed!

Now that is an inspiring bit of kit. Well done, sir.
-
Nice set up, reminds me of a project that I had been working on, that I have been neglecting and need to get back to it soon.
-
I like the finish and the modularity :)
-
Really nice. Love the modularity.
-
Interesting multipurpose piece of kit.
Nice job.

Lovely wee boat! 8)

It’s clearly a barge devoted to Nurgle! ;)........either that or it’s devoted to one of the minor chaos gods no one hears about! A barge for the Barge God!......otherwise known as Boaty Mcboatface, ;)
-
Awesome build 8)
I can see this having so much use, in a whole range of different settings apart from post-apoc. It would not look out of place on a 40K table, or Necromunda for instance. But it might be just as suited for Ion Age or even Warmachine.
Great stuff, sir!

We call him Waldo... lol

I really like it a lot, it's quite inspirational. Very cool and, as others said, repurposable.

Good idea very useful.

Very original build :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Not sure what I would use one for but I want one ???
-
Very cool, I like the canopy idea a lot. Reminds me of the vintage engravings and photos of Darkest Africa steamers.
-
Thanks guys, it was a super fun build. I initially thought of post apoc river survival....BUT the "darkest Africa" is an awesome thought too!!....makes ya go pulp with it for sure eh? ??? ;)
Cheers,
Carl

I love this. great build and I love the sails.
I would use it for my Gorkamorka Mod called Da Deff Islandz. if you have the rules for Gorkamorka, you can play this boat based version.

Hey there Easy E!! Thanks and Cool on the gorkamorka link ;)
-
Nice work. I like the idea of river-borne post apoc :)
-
Was thinking how well that would work as a weapons platform in Twilight 2000 RPG, using the "Pirates of the Vistula" riverine combat rules.
-
Thanx guys!!....and I just looled up Twilight 2000 RPG, using the "Pirates of the Vistula"....pretty neat!!

As soon as funds are freed up, I have plans for a modular terrain board with ideas of doing several rivers intersecting and a larger more open water tiles as well.
