1944 St Lo.
Started a project, first time I’ve done WW2 for quite a few years, after getting back into re-enactment, I’ve got a renewed interest in the period, particularly the Normandy period around St Lo as that’s what me and my friends are aiming to portray.
Small start, some fallschirmjäger MG42 team, I’ve done in a mix of gear, two will wear the early war grünmeliert smock, the other two in splinter pattern, really enjoying painting them so far all artizan miniatures

Little update on the splinter camo

Brilliant. Always enjoy seeing your work and these are looking well up to your usual standard.
Following with interest.

Great looking Fallis!
If I may express one minor suggestion though: You may want to look up how a real Kar98 looks as you‘ve painted the barrel like on a 18th century musket i.e. metal visible from muzzle to breech. In fact most of the barrel on modern carbines was covered by wood.

Cheers guys! Yes I realise I’ve painted that bit metal now! Thing is I’ve owned a couple of K98s and can’t think why I’ve done that! 😂

Started work on a farmhouse for some games, the four fallshirmjager are finished just awaiting basing, since then I’ve bought a few more to make a squad and a US infantry squad as their adversaries! Also done sone real scale items for my re-enactment!

Helmets

Great looking chaps indeed !

I think you'll need to blank out the insignia on the second helmet....

Thanks Thargor, but actually, not any more :)
Since the LAF is now hosted in the UK, German laws concerning display of illegal Nazi symbols no longer apply. We're not encouraging an outbreak of Neo-Nazism on LAF, but it's okay to show the occasional swastika or SS runes...
Lovely work on those Fallschirmjager, majorsmith. Super painting 8)
