Hi
While on holiday with the family to Northumberland last year my lad convinced me to look at getting some 10mm minitures sculpted for a period we find interesting.
We are working on a kickstarter project to get these released in pewter and if successful further the range with more foot and mounted for this period and then move onto Welsh - Scottish and French armies.
They were sculpted by the talented John Robertson.
have attached a pic - but can put on more if folks want to see them close up.
We have a page to keep folks informed with the release date here.

...10mm miniatures...
:o
From the photo you've posted they look incredible. Post some larger shots please.
I have only ever painted Copplestone 10mm so don't know how other manufacturers stack up, but yours look very fine. :)
Incidentally as I don't have a Facebook account I can't follow your link. (Less people are joining FB, and many are leaving the platform. Probably this trend will continue.)
-
They are superb 8)
-
No probs - pics incoming
there will be 5 mounted minis and 2 foot.
-
more close ups
-
Very nice! I'm currently painting some medieval TB line 10mm figures (soon to be sold by Pendraken) and these figures look like a good match...

Not wanting to pick a fight, but this isn't true. Facebook use grew by 11% year on year to June 2018.
1.47 billion active users every day.

Use is declining among hip young things under 25 (down around 10%). Fastest growing in the over 55s.
With our "greying hobby" I reckon it still makes sense for wargames manufacturers to stick with FB a while yet. :)
Lovely models BTW.

Those are very nice. Always good to see more 10mm
Are you doing foot figures as well?
-
Great looking figures and will get some when they are released. But not on face book, hate the thing. So please make a blog or web page.
Thanks
William

Riders and horses look well proportioned and the sculpts have enough details for a good paintjob! Very nice! :-*
-
For 10mm, these are amazing :o :-*
-
Very nice....hopefully the Scots will be nice and historical.
I thought these might be good for 1st Scottish war of independence but looking at them closely I am not so sure.
-
Very nice work! Please keep us posted on a release of these.
-
hahahaha - ill find the pics i posted on FB and put them here.
Thanks for the positive comments makes us want to delve deeper into the range.
They are all true 10mm scale so and really high detailed - John has made an excellent job on them.
When time permits im thinking of sculpting up a multi part castle, windmill and other relevant scenery for Lewes and Evesham battles as well as the siege at Kenilworth.
-
They are nice, looking forward to seeing more.
And thanks for posting here as well - as I'm another non-FB user.

Thanks Fred glad you like them - will release these first and then be adding to the range ASAP - stick to this period as tightly and as accurately as possible.

Not wanting to pick a fight...
No fighting - LAF is a friendly place. :)
No need to disrupt this thread, not my intention.
FB is massive and will (probably) be for a long time, For business though...Part of my job is Digital Marketing. We don't use it. The fact you have to have an account to see any content is a non-starter for business.
So in this case - showing off brilliant figures - might not be the best channel. Whereas a simple "open" blog might be better.
-
Hot damn - I thought they were 20mm scale. Lovely.

My job is digital marketing too. We make extensive use of Facebook. :)
You need to be where your audience is, so if yours isn't on Fb it makes sense not to be there.
I think for a small, niche start up wargames business on a limited budget FB is a sensible option. A blog too would be good I don't disagree. The important thing s making sure the lovely models (and they are great) get seen. So posting images here too, so those not on Fb can see them is good practice.

Very interesting, especially as I believe pendraken have just released some old early medieval figures.
-
Think they bought the TB line of Feudal knights - they look very nice.
Ours have been in the pipeline these since last summer - the whole process takes longer than you think.
-
We will be Kickstarting these miniatures on OCTOBER 7th for a two week period - fingers crossed all goes to plan and we will expand the range in this period as accurately as possible.
Thanks for the positive comments.
-
Cool. Be sure to post here when the KS goes live.
-
These will go Live for 2 weeks this coming friday.
Dead simple and straight forward pledges - with potential stretch goals available depending on how successful it becomes of course.
Apologies for its delay but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to push it back (we dont like to release anything unless we can 100% guarantee your going to get it - and everything is in place for its success).
Hope you can join us.
Please let us know any groups or forums that would be interested or share the kickstarter if possible.
thanks.
-
Can you post a link to the Kickstarter page, please.
-
Very nice indeed
Take care
Andy
-
Cheers for the positive comments and support folks - much appreciated.
-
Yes, please post a link for your Kickstarter. Color me interested!
-
Just gone live folks - hope you like them.

Very nice. And very tempting.
Would be great if you can unlock a few variant poses for the foot troops.
-
4 more foot troops to unlock folks.
-
That’s a really quick start!
-
I know - 24hours and doubled our target - Wooo Hooooo.
-
Stretch goals added - Barded and quilted mounted knights and foot with crossbow.
Pushing for 5th stretch goal.
-
Very tempting... Alas, I have enough on my plate as to add more stuff to my pile of unpainted lead! :D
-
Totally understand (been there).
They will be available afterwards once the kickstarter is completed - although we will then start on the next range to go with these.
-
Last 24 hour folk - thanks for your support so far - lots of new sculpts on offer.
-
Its going really well! What's the next stretch goal? And do you have one after £2900, which looks like it might be reached anytime now?
-
I don't "do" Kickstarter
I only ever painted 10mm once - Copplestone - and decided I wouldn't paint this scale again.
I just backed this for a few packs... ::)
(What bases sizes do people use for 10mm?)
-
Good man!
Remember with 10mm you are painting units, not individuals, though with this period there is the heraldry...
Bases, I like 40x40mm these days, gives a bit more space to make a mini diorama. 40x20mm (from Warmaster) is the classic 10mm base size, but can feel a bit fiddly to get enough single based figures on.

Either you go for 40mm by 20/40mm for Warmaster/DBx etc. or you simply use the models for 28mm scale rules and just put 2-5 models on the same single base you use for one 28mm model.
-
Funded - thanks for all those that supported or just spread the word - we absolutely smashed it.
Am casting ASAP to get all the pledges out.
Next Kickstarter will cover Welsh and Scottish mercenaries, character pieces, scenery, buildings and war machines.
All the best from apoc minis.

I wish someone, somewhere, just once would look at a few medieval pictures of how one really fired a crossbow. It doesn't have the trajectory of a Martini-Henry rifle. Honestly.
-
I wish people would realise its just toy soldiers.

Just incase anyone on this thread wasnt aware - more sculpts have been made for this line - especially foot troops and will be released in a kickstarter at the end of this month.
