I'm writing some Cthulhu/horror scenarios for an upcoming role-playing campaign, more on those later. This thread is to show off the miniatures I'm preparing for the game. The setting is the 80s but I'm flexible so there are characters from well before then in the mix and may well be characters from later too, who knows where the muse will take me?
These were all painted in the last week of my summer holidays:

I see Baby Kade's gotten away from Pandora again. At least he only brought his small Teddy instead of the big one. :)

I have a giant 'evil' teddy bear that I painted a few years ago, are they connected?

Those top 3 pictures scream the 80's. The guy in the Hawaiian shirt! lol
I think my favorite though is the lady in white and her friends. They look right out of an Italian Giallo.

Great work! You make it look so easy. :-*

I'm also assembling a set of modern furniture and a set of modern floor plans. More on the floor plans later, here's some of the furniture.

So, the investigators and the monsters are well underway, the interiors are coming along nicely, all that's left is the exteriors.
To this end, I have embarked on painting and assembling some Streetscape buildings from slug Industries.
There's a project page here with more photos of the different stages but I'll post everything here once they're finished.

Lots of variety! Good color choices as well.

Another "who makes?" question for you Paul.
This time the Cat Lady and the Bag Lady?

The cat lady with the stick is from Reaper. The cat lady (bag lady indeed!) with the bags is from Black Cat Bases.

Awesome work! Bravo! Love the gun-wielding scientist bimbo. And all the rest, of course. And if it didn't get said enough earlier, your interiors are really wonderful.
The yithian drawing is pretty funny. I've got the Paizo/wizkids version of that critter, and it's very close. <g>

Supercool. I love the variety of characters you have, especially the monsters. The homeless look very cozy in their sleeping bags.

The whole project is looking great. Where did you get the Yithians? And the bikers? (All from last page)
EDIT: Just bothered to check your site and find they are RAFM and Westwind respectively. Are those the new Yithians? Their photo looks different - the "heads" are what's throwing me.
EDIT#2: Ah, I see they are the classic Murch sculpts. I'll go away now... ::)

Yet another question has occurred: you say this will be for a rpg game. Will this be The Call of Cthulhu rules or a homebrew? Other? It seems you lean much more to the tabletop aspect of gaming, more so than most rpg'rs I've come across. I'd love to learn more about your approach. Maybe it will come out through the AARs, so I'll be patient. :)

I'm using 'the Cthulhu Hack' a set of simple rules for running Cthulhu themed RPGs.
http://www.justcrunch.com/
My group and I have played the original Call of Cthulhu since 2nd edition and we're a bit jaded by it now so I fancied a change.
The adventures I've written so far are for the Cthulhu Hack but are easily converted to any other Cthulhu rules system such as the original CoC, Gumshoe, of even the Laundry.
Tonight we will be playing Double Jeopardy, a scenario suitable for beginning investigators.
-
Thank you, Paul. Best of luck with things tonight!

(Might just be me, but the photos with the above post aren't showing.)

Double Jeopardy, my first adventure module written for use with the Cthulhu Hack and other Mythos themed games is on sale from today,
Full colour, fully illustrated with NPC portraits, player handouts, player and GM maps and a handy compressed overview of plot points to make running it a breeze it's designed for beginning investigators.
There is a link in the rules to a fully illustrated playthrough with photos of a test game so a prospective GM can get a feel of how the adventure might go before they run it.
Available on DriveThruRPG

I'm a little shocked this hasn't received more replies. :( At any rate, the game looks gorgeous as always - very much hoping you will post future installments. I for one am hoping the Yithians might make an appearance one of these days! Those things are creepy.
Thank you for sharing!!!

Nobody cares about this project :) To be fair, it's had over 5000 views in only three months which isn't bad.
There will be a Yithian presence in the next chapter.

This forum pays me back by being a receptive audience for my efforts, there's no fun working on toys in a vacuum.
This time of year is a difficult time to schedule games so there might be a short hiatus while people do family stuff over the holidays. The Cthulhu game will return with the next instalment, The Flame from Space, as soon as we all get back together.

I immensely enjoyed reading the two adventure reports. Your terrain and miniatures perfectly fit the story. I'm looking forward to reading more.
I spotted a lot of 3D-printed objects. Have you designed them yourself or are they from places like thingivers, grabcad,...?

They're all from Thingiverse or similar, I don't design anything myself :) (I did design some bases once).

Some Chinese mobsters from Atomico miniatures. I'm going to have to send my players to China I think.
