Title: Recycling FOW minis into Crossfire
Post by: blacksmith on September 12, 2018, 09:25:27 AM
Hi,
Trying to get some disenchanted after 4th edition ex-FOW players into Crossfire to play the game again.
If interested, in my blog you can see full report with pictures of my second game after nine years of playing Crossfire.

Agreed, keep it to what it was designed for (Infantry & support only) and there is no better small unit game out there. The Modern and Indochina/Vietnam variants are also superb games.
Neat game and report Javi.

Agree with you but they have lot of tanks and want to use them so we'll see.
Thanks Rob!
Thanks to all for the kind comments.

Crossfire...another cracking set of rules by Arty Conliffe.

'Agree with you but they have lot of tanks and want to use them so we'll see.'

Blitzkreig Commander III (revised) will be out soonish I hope. Plenty of scope for armour of all flavours.
I'll use my FoW stuff for that (and Crossfire).
Have not played FoW for years.

Javier, that looks fantastic.  I once nearly did the opposite; about 12 years ago a grad student at our local university, who was buddies with one of my friends, wanted to try flames of war.  I said, sure I could supply everything and he'd figure out how the very many various CF stands I have could be adapted for FOW.  We never did get around to it and he moved away.

Glad to hear you are returning to the game after such a long absence.

I did not like BKC back in the day and I do not feel like to try the newest version, but I have under the sleeve another ruleset to try with FOW players in case they do not like Crossfire, Battleroup, which can be closer to FOW tastes than CF I guess and in which you can use a lot of tanks.

Thank you Tim! CF is one of those games you return from time to time, just like DBA or HotT to name a few.
Cheers
