Are they 28mm scale?

20mm scale. Given they are 3D prints they could theoretically be resized I suppose.

They need  grey puffs of cotton to represent the inevitable cloud of Trabbie Exhaust

If you want one then there’s a passable 1/55 scale diecast proxy in the Disney Pxar Cars range.

That is interesting to know. Any idea what it is called? I have not seen that Pixar/Disney film series.

Indeed. I remember very clearly my first journey behind the Iron Curtain. After numerous searches & passport checks the train i was on slowly lumbered through a kind of no mans land. Just endless wire fences, guards and dogs. After a while we came through a town, still sleepy as it was just after first light. The first sign of human activity that i saw was a beat redrust coloured Trabant rumbling down a cobblestone road with a huge exhaust plume behind it. If that comes in a 28mm/1/56th scale i want one (or two) just for memory sake. ;-)
