I have been trying for a long time to paint my collected works. Unfortunately, the first pictures are not very good. Sorry.
-
Germans on the head. Hmm, something I did wrong. Sorry about that.
Iīll try next time to do better picīs.
-
Nice painting :)
-
They look great!
-
Great work. 👍 Please post more when you get the chance.
-
Very nice painting.

Very nice 8) 8) 8)

The field-grey is spot on! Lovely painting.
-
Thank you for the nice comments. :)
I have a few more tries.
-
actually i have the 25cm Minenwerfer from Greatwar Miniatures on the table. It makes fun. ;)
-
Awesome brushwork!:) Always inspiring to see miniatures painted up so well. Have some of those figures myself that have been kept in reserves, all primed and at the ready, that are going to see the light again ;)
Do you add a light-blue grey wash to some of the pants?
I think that pulls out a nice, subtle contrast to the tunic.
-
Thanks for the compliment Gribb, that motivates me. For the pants I use different shades of gray. As basis German gray or neutral gray, as second step mixed with dark sea gray. the tunic is always based German field gray. For the highlights i use different typs of gray.
These miniatures were also in the box for a very long time. But actually i read a book
August 1914 from Barbara Tuchmann. And that inspired me.
-
I forget, in english is the book title "the guns of august". ::)
-
Very, very nice painting indeed. Excellent rendition of the early field grey.
-
Agree, lovely tones in your painting.

Thanks for the information. I found it difficult to do the field grey, and eventually opted for the painting kit from AK interactive. It was helpful for me with 3 bottles(base, shadow, highlight).
Out of curiosity, how long do you spend painting the figures?
I haven't read that one, but will keep an eye out for it. Ordered "Lost Opportunity: The Battle of the Ardennes, 22 August 1914 Simon J House". Seen good reviews for it.
Keep up the good work, you inspired me to start the Germans this evening :)
-
I am glad to hear that :D. I need several hours for a figure. How long exactly can not I say. I have no experience with the AK Interactive colors. I'm curious what your opinion is.
Since I also want to paint British, I'm looking for useful colors. Actualy i use VMC and GW Colors.
-
Having tried the set for ww1 Germans I think they provide a efficient and correct shade of painting that looks right for the period. I spent much time before that mixing colors to get the right look. They do have a set for the British uniform as well, and I think its worth a shot.

Here is a blog of a guy trying out both sets, and I think the results look pretty good:

Thanks for the link, Gribb. I'll definitely be watching. ;)
-
Very nice indeed! Love the colour tones.
Well done!
-
Here the Minethrower from Great War Miniatures.
-
The photos have become a bit big. the painting was fun.
-
Really fine work! :D There is a nice depth in the paints and the basing is complimenting the minethrower and crew well.
-
Superb little vignette. Great painting.
-
Great work on those. 👍
-
AWESOME!!!
Any plans to paint the Granatenwerfer 16? It's my favorite weapon. Here's mine.
-
Thankīs very much gentlemen. The next in my plan is the FK 77 fieldgun or the machinegun 08 with crew. It is not clear. I saw that empress has new Freicorps in the sortiment. But ... i stay hard ;) . The Granatwerfer 16 is really interesting but i would painting first the early war miniatures. French infantry with their rouge pantalons and the shiny dragoons are on my list too.
-
certainly betrays the patience and experience in your craftsmanship.
-
Some excellent stuff here. I hope you'll share a "group" photo soon with it all together.
-
Very nice. I think you did a superb job on the German infantry. Which manufacturer were they?
-
Thank you very much for the nice comments.
A group photo will definitely be possible in the near future ;).
The manufactures are Great War Miniatures and Mutton Chops from Empress Miniatures.
-
Nice work. Im going to be painting up a couple of units for a mate very soon. Hope mine turn out as well as yours.
-
Nicely painted. I quite like the Uniform tone on the first officer.
-
Nice work.

After a longer break here something for Flanders in 1914.

-
I have painted again a little further after a break.
-
and some more
-
and finaly
-
Great work!
-
Very nice. Like those Russians. I have a lot of those Musketeer/Footsore sculpts though I got mine from Wee Wolf.
-
Great paintjob!
-
Great stuff!
-
Once again great stuff
-
Thank you gentlemen. I also like the Russians from Musketeer but unfortunately they are no longer available on Footsore. But that's not a bad thing because now beautiful Russian infantry from Empress appears.
It is a welcome change for me after a Napoleonic project to return to the khaki and field grey of WWI.

Stunning brushwork!!!!!
