Title: Figure Comparison - Perry/Essex
Post by: Hu Rhu on October 01, 2018, 07:46:39 PM
Does anyone know how Essex Miniature Muslim Crusade figures match up to their Perry counterparts?

Thanks

Gary it’s pure speculation but I would say the Perrys will tower over the Essex Stuff.
Modern 28s meet old school 25s?

Not got a photo, but the horses of my Perry plastic WOTR cavalry are much taller than those of my Essex HYW French knights. The Essex foot figures are slightly shorter, but it's not such a pronounced difference by and large.

Essex are pretty chunky figures. I have some of their ancients figures, and they are not that different in size from other 28mm stuff.
Their horses are on the small side

In addition to height, you probably should think about the style of sculpting. Some of the Essex ranges were sculpted in the 1980s and so have the larger heads typical of ranges sculpted in that period. Others are a bit more modern. I'm afraid that I don't know when Essex's Muslim range was sculpted. I'm looking at some Perry Miniatures Crusaders now and they don't have large heads.

I don't know that particular range, but I have plenty of Essex figures and I think size wise you won't have too many worries mixing some in.
