Hi all, Andrew from Meridian Miniatures here. As well as running Meridian Miniatures for the last 6 years I have been involved in the wider miniatures hobby in my spare time. While browsing Instagram I came across the artwork of @blackcrabart and knew that I had to sculpt miniatures based on the amazing pictures that I saw.

I had such an amazing response when I shared the images online that I decided to set up a modest Kickstarter to fund their production and enable people to get their hands on them. I'd like to thank Moritz @blackcrabart for allowing me to use his artwork, check out the original pictures on the link below.

Ooh, those are creepy, and very wel sculpted 8)
I'm unfamiliar with the artwork, but these would certainly not look out of place in any 40K setting; they're just so dark gothic. I could see them as priests of either an Imperial cult, or as their chaotic counterparts. They would make suitable members of an Inquisitorial retinue, but also as some fantasy based undead cult.
Many applications, and I'm looking forward to seeing what else you might come up with ;)
+++EDIT+++ I just backed it; let's hope it funds... :)
-
Love those, agree with Daeothar they look like they could fit in in both sci-fi and fantasy settings, I think I can find a use for them as background rabble on the Streets of a Star Wars setting
-
I’m stoked on these - backed for two packs so I can convert the second.
-
Aand funded!
That was fast... :)
-
Lovely work, mate.
Great characters!
You have captured the artwork perfectly.
:-* :-*

Thanks for all the support, guys!

I like the concept art and the sculpts look very well executed, but I can't get past that bone the one guy's holding. It's just ridiculously huge - not sure even a horse would have a thigh bone that big, and certainly nothing even vaguely human sized. Just throw all the rest of it off to me, it feels so out of scale. And that's a shame, because the rest is so good.

It's been love at first sight, I just got on board and backed :-*

Saw that too, but my immediate thought was: turn it into a candle... ;)

Nephilim femur. ;)

Or he's showing a relic from a Primarch's ossuary. (a good thing the unwashed masses don't know it's actually an ogryn skeleton in there, or the whole shrine would be razed to the ground in religiously fueled outrage) :D

Exactly the kind of imagination that keep this hobby fun!

I've had a few request for scale comparison pics from folk so have a look below.

Fantastic models! Would work perfectly for the free and model agnostic Star Breach sci-fi skirmisher. Fits at least two or three of the twenty factions. Feel free to join and share at the Star Breach Tabletop Game FB group if you’ve got FB! :) Cheers!
-
Those are great.. Will they be available outside of the Kickstarter as timing is bad for me.
-
Yes, just get in touch when you're ready.
Cheers

They have a real John Blanche early Rogue Trader vibe too. I really like them. Tempting!

For me it's his right arm...it seems too long. I think he can scratch his knee while standing straight!
But otherwise fantastic sculpts.

That's exactly what attracted me to Moritz's artwork. 8)
-
They are suitably weird, not too much tat which will make them easier to paint.

Hi everyone, thanks again for the continued support! I thought I’d share some more images to of the painted figures. I had a lot of fun with my iPhone and some free apps when I made these images! The photos were taken before I varnished the figures, I loved the richness of the colours at this point. I can’t wait to see what paint schemes all of you come up with once you receive your figures.

Thanks very much!

Hi everyone, we appear to still be thundering along! I can’t believe how successful this campaign has become, thanks so much to everyone involved. I’ve been having more fun with apps so I thought I’d share some detail pics of the figures as you will receive them. I’m very happy with the castings, they’re on par with every good quality casting I’ve ever bought, minimal mouldlines and filling needed before painting and all the little details captured perfectly! I’m really looking forward to receiving a big parcel of castings once we’re funded so I can forward them all off around the world!

Dammit! I've been trying so hard to slow down the rate it which my lead pile is growing*, and then you start offering lovely characterful minis on KS, curse your black heart ;) . Oh well, I guess 3 more won't hurt...
* If I'm honest with myself, that's a lie. I'd like to slow down the rate, but seem to have trouble actually enacting that intent.

12hrs remain, thanks to all!
-
These are so great and so creepy that I almost failed to pledge. But I did.
-
Congrats on the wildly succesful campain! :)

Noooooo, I missed it! I meant to back this :(

Backed at 7 hours remaining, glad I did. They are very Hellboy looking.

Fair point. Given the number of shrines out there, how many thighbones did Sanguinius HAVE, anyway? I'm starting to suspect there are shenanigans going on here. :)
-
He probably had many hundreds, if we go by the amount of St. John's bodyparts all over Europe during the middle ages. I understand there were enough bones attributed to him, to create at least six full skeletons lol
Going by the same distribution ratio, encompassing the width and breadth of the Imperium, I'd say there may actually be thousands! And each and every one of them profitable enough to, together, make up a substantial portion of Echlesiary funding too ;D

PM’s replied, sorry for the wait!

Hey all just a cheeky note to say that I have a new campaign running, I posted it in the fantasy sectionhttps://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=117026.0 . Sorry mods for bumping the thread.
