Title: 28mm Sir Edward Villiers Regiment of Horse 1694
Post by: anton ryzbak on October 14, 2018, 08:56:30 PM
Still pounding away at the plastic mountain, trying to get my Lace Wars cavalry done by the end of the year. I completed Sir Edward Villiers Regiment of Horse circa 1694. I would appreciate any help with the standard that they carried, so if anybody out there has an idea, please advise  https://antonswargame.blogspot.com/2018/10/return-to-lace-wars-sir-edward-villiers.html (https://antonswargame.blogspot.com/2018/10/return-to-lace-wars-sir-edward-villiers.html)

Comments, criticism and helpful pointers all welcomed

This regiment was probably using the same cornets as they did in James II's time. These were plain white with no device with yellow and silver fringing and tassels.

You have done a great paint job but they really have the wrong hats. I have done similar units, although not as well as you, and I used 'floppy' hats from the ECW/TYW range instead of the post 1700 ones.

I hope this helps.

WFGamers, thanks for the input, I had hoped that the flags remained the same. A head-swap is a simple thing with plastics so I can pick the floppy hats head out of one of the infantry boxes and correct my mistake. I do love plastic minis for that.
