Title: ANZAC Memorial Passchendaele diorama
Post by: TacticalPainter on November 19, 2018, 03:22:51 AM: Apologies for taking this a bit off topic but I thought the group might be interested in this. My brother-in-law recently completed a commission to build a diorama for a new exhibition gallery in Sydney's recently renovated ANZAC War Memorial. It's a large piece showing an action where Capt Jeffries of the 34th Battalion won a posthumous VC during an assault on a German pillbox. The scale is approximately 1/25. They have really made an effort to help people understand exactly what is going on and the background. You can pick individual weapons to zoom in on and then find out more about them, why they were used etc. There's also an explanation of the tactics being used and it explains what the Lewis gunners are trying to do and what the assault party is trying to do. Not only is it a stunning bit of modelling but it's also a very good exhibit for helping a general audience understand that part of the war.

It's a really interesting piece of architecture and well worth a look for anyone visiting Sydney.

And - your tank is a beautiful piece of work too!
