Anyone able to ID this 25mm/28mm camel rider?
He was originally holding what looked like an antique tribesman rifle of some sort before I swapped it for the flagpole.
Thanks in advance.

Anyone have even a hunch on the sculpting style?
Here's another view from the side:

It looks like a - slight- conversion of one of Redoubts Arab riders in the March or Die range

So probably this one

Thanks for the reply - but I'm thinking not. The camel itself looks different (head and tail), but it is the same quality of sculptor.
All I did was snip off the rifle, add the flagpole and sculpt a new hand (edit: and the bag hanging on the left hand side). It's a single piece lead cast. Probably closer to 28mm than 25mm.
Thanks again (but the search continues).

was thinking of Blaze away minis but no ... still searching ;)

I have that figure. I purchased it at Historicon several years ago. The company did a lot of "one off" figures (like African maidens carrying a English chap in uniform, and slaves in yokes after capture). I will try to figure out the company. It's a cool figure. I have two misgivings about it, #1) they didn't do any others to go with it and, #2) mine is STILL not painted (it has only been about 12 years....I've got plenty of time!). BTW....you did a beautiful job on the painting!

If memory servers me right (it has been getting a little dull with age), it looks like it may be a Eureka Figure. They are the ones that did the slaves I mentioned. and I'm sure they were from the same display booth.

I have the same figure, which had a rifle in his hand. I think it was originally called Lawrence of Arabia. But, the sculptor was in the US, and his company has been defunct; both from New York state area. They use to have one-off type of figures. For example, they also had a Deadlands flier, which was perfect for VSF (and I also have). The name escapes me at the moment.

Ok, I now 'member!
I believe this was from Jeff Valent Studios.
-
Whoever made it, it is a superb figure, beautifully painted. Well done.
-
Thanks all of you - you've been a great help and I really appreciate it.
I've tried Google image search and Way Back Machine to see Jeff Valent Studio's shop but can't seem to find the camel rider.
But getting it from Historicon actually makes sense and I'll ask Eureka if they know where it's from later in the week (and let you guys know). Thanks again.

Yeppers... ECW "Bob" Captain is correct. I now remember it WAS Jeff Valent Studios.
-
Nic at Eureka wasn't sure - so it's probably a Jeff Valent Studios sculpt. Thanks all (again).

I painted him up with a Tuareg shield as the leader of my Tuareg camelry, even though his face isn't covered. Truly a wonderfully conceptualized and sculpted figure.
-
If it was a one piece cast, it might be a Hinchcliffe from their old colonial range.

Von Lucky presented the figure to me as a gift, thank you very much indeed, our lad.
It has pride of place on the mantle piece.
