I received my Kickstarter pack yesterday, and first impressions.. wow.. very very nice figures. I am very much looking forward to getting stuck into these. There is assembly required but the sculpts, proportions and detail look to be very good. I shall hopefully post some pics in due course.
My only drama is that I already have a Warlord 'Bonnie Prince Charlie' - and who needs two?
-
I think the clear message from the 1745 rebellion was....
who needs even one!

I got mine a couple of days ago but I’m being very disciplined and only going to open the parcel on Christmas Day.
Unless I peek beforehand ;)
Now, about the Hannoverians...........

I have found the very best way to handle temptation is to give in straight away lol

Glad to hear you got them ok and that you like them :D
Like you I'm over the moon with the figures and i have a few days off at Christmas that will be spent painting them.

I agree with Oscar Wilde, I can resist anything but temptation.

Got a notice from the Postal Office that a package is waiting for me to pick up! ;D
So it begins!
I was wondering what rules to use, but finally decided for Black Powder as it seems to be popular and well supported. I will build my units with 3 bases, following Beneath the Lily Banners basing suggestions. Thus I can use either ruleset, depend on what I fancy at the moment. Therefore, my plan is that a standard unit will have 3 bases, large units 4 bases and small units 2 bases. I have not a big table (it is 6x4) and I need to reduce ranges if I want to use BP (1/3 looks the way to go). Also, I like Roger' suggested changes to basic BP rules, i.e shot before movement and Brigade morale checks instead automatic rout.

Top work, and now I am also wondering about opponents... :-) after all, all those Highlanders have to fight someone. Mine have however been put in the drawer for the moment, as I have been trying to discipline myself to actually finish one thing before starting another, and I seem to have acquired 28mm WW2 French, plus Attalid Pergamenes, (never mind all the rest of the stuff tucked away.. )

Never before have I heard of such heresy! lol

On Rules, honours of war also uses similar basing and is worth taking a look at. There are army lists on their forum for the 45 too

Vodkafan! Ours have arrived. I have only had time for a quick look.... VERY NICE.
You can have a shufti on Sunday.

There is also a set called Donnybrook, from the same stable as BtLB. Uses single figures though.
Personally thinking of coin mounted figures, with sabot bases to take the BtLB option as an alternative.

That’s the way I’m going, starting with Sharp Practice and scaling up as necessary.

That's my intention as well. Not sure about how SP treats Highlanders though. There was a piece on using SP to do the '45 in the 2017 summer special.

Got my half of our shared kickstarter haul this morning. No doubt they are lovely crisp clean figures, a nice size. Plenty of variety in pose to start off my Jacobite force. I am going to compare them with a couple of other ranges a bit later, and start seeing how they look on different sizes of basing. We haven't decided what rules we will use yet.
