Unfortunately I'm only on my mobile at the moment.(forum just ignored my link attempt.)
I randomly came across this on EBay.( actually looking at extra bits for my son's Space Crusade . When this came up as a suggestion.)
I was impressed by the quality of his brush work. Mainly because like a lot of people I've only seen his work via the short Pathe film on YouTube. Which seems a little naive and dated totally missing just how well he could colour in.
Mark.

Good lord, that banner's better even than ones you see today. Better than some printed ones even.
Well, dang!
-
If It wasn't so close to Christmas I'd have chucked a bid on them myself.
If you Take away the connection to Peter Cushing . You'd still be hard pushed to buy that many printed flag for that kind of money let alone hand painted ones.(it's the colouring inside the line's that costs money ;) )

beautiful.
such a good actor too - brought a touch of real class and gravitas to anything he was in, not least all the Hammer fare.
wonder what the story is behind these coming up for sale.

I remember seeing a load of gaming stuff and banners at the Hammer 40th Exhibition back in 97.............dunno if it was these or not.
I'd bid, but I honestly wouldn't know what to do with these other than build a shrine around them?

Simple scan, Photoshop, rescale . and you've got a 50+ banner range by Peter Cushing.(Napoleonic's never die ;D)

Heretic! ;)

I'm pretty sure it would just be one of those things you just took pleasure in owning. "I've got Peter Cushing's flags" might win you some kudos, providing people don't say "Peter who?"*.
* Naturally your reply should be "No, Doctor Who". :)

I'd probably donate to a museum really. No point having things like this kicking around the house - too much of a valued object to be collecting dust, so should be given to a curator for access by people who want to see it.
-
Personally I'd use them. Don't see the point in having nice flags like that not being used on the table.

Went for £720.

Well, the cultural association makes them somewhat more than "nice flags" and gluing them to models destroys both the value and object.

Not to derail the conversation, but even though I was pleasantly surprised when seeing the pictures, they were not quite what I was expecting when reading the abbreviated topic title on the forum start page... lol
