Hi all,
Thought I'd share some pics of my latest mini. I've converted the UR-025 miniature from GW's Blackstone Fortress game into an old abandoned Explorator robot. Very much a homage to the robot in Studio Ghibli's Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

That metal painting! :D

That's about the most clever idea I've seen all year. Awesome!

Very cool 8)
(needs a little squirrel/fox/cat climbing on it ;))

Brilliant! 8)
As a 40K fluff nut, an image was immediately created in my mind. And what better way to express it than through a haiku?
Men of Iron rise
As butterflies beat their wings
Ancient storms return
+++EDIT+++ corrected for proper poetic form... :D

Brilliant! Just the right amount of moss covering! :-* I love that film too!

I don't know the reference, but it's a beautifully painted figure and a rather poignant version to boot! Love the vegetation growth.
-
Thanks all.
@axiom
This is the reference, it's a famous film by Hayao Miyazaki

Laputa is the first thing I thought of when the image of your work appeared, I love it!

Do yourself a favor, watch the movie. It's well worth the time and minimal effort of locating a copy online.
Fantastic paint job and conversion, regardless.

Saw this on instagram earlier! Great job! Very characterful and well placed moss, my friend.

Awesome.
If you feel bored at any time then a Necron army like this would look amazing.

The painting of the aged metal work is awesome ... it is painting isn't it? not real aged metal? :-)

Outstanding. Where do the arms come from? I have long wished to game Miyazaki's worlds in 28mm...

That's quite beautiful, there's occassions when something transcends the hobby, this is one of them. 8)

Thanks guys!

Thanks. The larger arm is from the Kastelan Datasmith and the small arm is from the Kataphron destroyers, I used the ball joints from the Kataphrons as well.
