Inspired by Silent Invaded to paint up a knight and a small retinue for a game at this years BLAM I have fallen back in love with the Medieval period and have extended the size of the Retinue.
I’m going more Hollywood than history so please don’t point out any inaccuracies these are just for fun. Lots a chivalrous deeds, saving damsels and vanquishing evil.(They’ve just Been in action in a game over on the Gothic Horror board. ;) lol)
Sir Ronald De Barker on foot and mounted is a Crusader miniature as is his Sergeant. The retainers are all Black Tree Design.
I have no idea where this will end up, I’m aiming for three groups and a mixed bag of other knights. Ideally i’d like to have enough for a game of Lion Rampant but who knows when I’ll butterfly off to something else.
They were a lot of fun to paint although Sir Ronald’s shield was a challenge. It doesn’t look to great enlarged here, better seen from a distance. lol

Nice clean painting - a fine retinue indeed.

Great brushwork. But I always thought the crest of Sir Ronald was... Four Candles?

The BLAM is always a great source for inspiration. Great work, Nich of London!

Too late, I beat you to it.
Lovely looking little group, even if they don't fight so well lol
-
Can’t go wrong with a sky blue and white colour scheme, Nick . They would also be useful for Outremer the newish Osprey rules. Not sure if they’re a variant on L.R.

I assumed it was a cooked goose lol
Looking very good, well worth going for the LR-sized force.

Those are really nice! :-* Love the colours ( and the duck)

Duck ?! That Sir, is a base canard.
