That was a neat trick.  I wonder if whirlpools really do go in the opposite direction on opposite sides of the world.

One of my Physics lecturer stated that at anything less than a reservoir size, direction of rotation was more due to starting conditions than Coriolis effect.

Of course, there is always Ian Stewart and Jack Cohen's description of teachers...

I’ll rudely interrupt the plug-hole hilarity and just say how much I like the vessels. They are not helping me in my struggle to resist buying some myself. :o
