Stunning job mate

Lovely work but I think you’ll find that the additional side shields were a curiosity, peculiar to 8th Div in Malaya and to the various components of 23 Brigade, parcelled out to Timor, Ambon and Rabaul (Sparrow Force, Gull Force and Lark Force).

Photos of them elsewhere, including Borneo appear to show the shields unmodified. The gunners in 8th Div in 1942 would be wearing standard khaki drill shorts and shirts as per the desert war.

Here’s a 2 pdr in Borneo in 1945.

A lovely piece of work, or rather pieces.  It's more impressive that you've made a pair.Making one representation is relatively simple . But the planning and building of multiple identical scratch builds is inherently more complex . The subtle differences in the crews wether by design or by luck.
Make them all the more special.
Your emotive painting style captures the wear and tear of equipment in theatre it shows empathy for your subject matter.

Once again nicely done.

Mark.

Great scratchbuilding and creative converting work, and well painted too.
It’s a very evocative group. Look forward to seeing your project evolve  8)

Thanks guys, :)
Thanks Carlos for that added information, very helpful.
I was tossing up whether to portray the  Australians with their early Khaki uniforms before they started dying and wearing Jungle greens but since most of my gaming will be with late war action, I went with the Greens.

Thanks Captain Blood, have been looking thru your amazing posts, lovely  models and terrain to go with them, it will be great reference material for my  future Desert theater I hope to do , which is constantly been put on the back burner.

cheers John

Fantastic stuff, brought a warm glow to my heart.

I do like the early war British kit and also like the British and Commonwealth forces in S.E. Asia, so this was a double whammy for me.

A very impressive piece of work beautifully realised.
