Title: Dark Ages Project - HASTINGS 1066 - 11 March page 4
Post by: Eric the Shed on January 06, 2019, 08:18:36 AM
Back in April of last year I bought several boxes of plastics to furnish a small Dark Age Project - this has grown somewhat but I am delighted to report that the very last figure got painted last week. Just a small case of basing up 1000+ minis.
So starting with the Norman Infantry here goes - more details on the blog http://shedwars.blogspot.com/2019/01/the-norman-infantry.html (http://shedwars.blogspot.com/2019/01/the-norman-infantry.html)
I'll show up both armies in my next blog post and talk about how we are going to play Hastings this coming Spring

That's very impressive. Do you have any problems with having things stand up okay on the fur in some of your shots, or do you find the bases big enough to avoid issues with that?

Thanks Maniac - the stands are big enough not to fall over but they do get snagged. Still in two mimds as to whether I'll use the fur or the base green boards...

Could not help myself - had to put the Normans out to face the Saxons - both Armies on the table at the same time;-)
no - after setting up the forces I realised I still needed some more archers and some more fyrd. These have just arrived and should be finished by March - the inaugural battle of Hastings is being fought on March 10th - an all day affair
Thanks for all the wonderful comments chaps

I'm of two minds here:
Do I report you for having some coterie of poor souls chained up in some soundproofed basement slaving away 23 hours a day painting your miniatures you purport to be your own work?
Or do I demand, demand I say, that you provide us all with a detailed light-speed painting tutorial?
That's way freakin' above 30 figures per day, start to finish - and based, too!
Now I'm of two more minds:
Do I hate you for showing us all up?
Or, do I just continue to love your work?
You scoundrel! lol
Why the heck hasn't LAF brought forth that "Green With Envy" emoticon yet?

Outstanding! Not sure how you manage to paint that quantity so well and so quickly. I thought I was cock of North painting 12 in a sitting. And they are Egyptians so like 90% flesh.
