James came over today with his lovely Celts for a game of OGAM.
We played the Cattle Raid scenario from the Celt book and much fun ensued

Another great looking game. :)

Thanks. Credit to James really - they're all his models.

Lovely! Gives me a ton of ideas! Is OGAM a fun game overall, and is the Celt supplement worth it? I'd love to get my old AA minis out for some action...

Now that I'm asking, how easy do you think it is to do your own mythologies? I'd love to get my Maya on the table using this. Are there provisions for doing that?

That makes me want to test this one. o_o
Great !

Yes, as with most of the 'Song Of...' stable of games there's a system for inventing and calculating your own creations. We made a giant 'hero' for this game for instance.
When I played with my son he insisted Poseidon be as powerful as Zeus, so we were able to make that change too.
You have basic stats and then a series of special rules all of which have points cost then there are multipying factors for god's or heroes.
I believe someone on the FB group may already have done Mayan gods.

You should, it's a great little game and if you've already got any sort of ancient army you'll already have the mortal core of an OGAM force. Just adds one gods and monsters...
I believe James has an article about the game in a future issue of WI.

Yes OGAM is great. I really like the 'Song of..' engine for skirmish games. Gives you a real element of choice/decision making for each action (mixed with a healthy chunk of chance to mess up your plans!). The combination and interaction of gods, heroes and mortals gives it a unique flavour too.
I don't have the Celts supplement, so you'd need James's opinion (hopefully he'll be along later :)) but there is a Celts list in the book that's eminently playable.

Definite yes to both, in my opinion. OGAM is fast moving and both Tom and I enjoy it. One of the strengths of the rules is that the whole points cost system is included in the book, so designing your own pantheons is incredibly easy by combining stats and traits of your choice. There is a Celtic pantheon in the rules, but I would also recommend the Celts supplement, which has a lot more in it and some extra scenarios.

Man, I really need to get my Greek version going......
Great looking games!
