Cheers guys,
for 2019 I have a 28mm Beutepanzer (or Beute-Wheeled-Vehicle) project. I would like to build and paint 12 vehicles, one each month. Thematically I will try to stay on the balkans as much as possible, while I still have something in mind for the eastern front too. I am really interested and fascinated by Beutepanzers, which was the reason for this project. This thread starts with my january feature:

This is a R35 / T-26 hybrid of which only one actual picture with Balkenkreuze excists:

Picture was probably taken in the balkans and turret was most certainly fixed. Some information and all speculations regarding this vehicle could be found here:: http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/nazi_germany/R35_mit_T26_Turm.php
Off for some more pictures:

Nice work! :-* :-* :-*
Looking forward to the coming 11 months!
Which model manufacturers will you use?
-
Interesting model, well done.
So what models dis you use or is it scratch built?
-
Love your work, thank you for sharing your project.
-
Thank you guys!
For this model I used a Warlord Resin R35 (availability was the best, the aquired Rubicon model and the Blitzkrieg model both might be better) and a plastic Rubicon turret from their T-26. Which still gives me some options for the model.
For the future I will use any manufactuters which I can access easily. Plastics prefererred but not many of the models I have in mind are released in plastic yet and possibly never will.
Next up will either be another converted vehicle with only a minor "Beute-"part in it or something small italian.
Cheers Robin
-
Thanks.
Have you seen this?

Yes I have. Whilst there is also some information that Warlord will release a plastic kit this year.
But my next vehicle will be alot smaller than this one :)
-
This is an interesting themed project which will be a lot of fun to follow. My own favourite Beutepanzers are the top-heavy SP guns on French chassis and universal carriers with PAK 36 AT guns....can never get enough carriers with PAK 36.... ;D
-
Really interesting project and a lovely tank! What's next? ;)

Wow yes. Your painting of the details is outstanding.
Small and Italian? A CV tankette is too obvious. I am hoping for a captured semovente 47/32.... ;D
-
A lovely start - will follow with interest.
-
I do love beutepanzers
-
So om two Beutepanzer number two for february.
The something small italian will be....

A L6/40 in italian camo with these two tanks for reference. Model by Warlord Games assembled. Hatch was just mocked for these pictured, will lay flat later:

Nice work.
-
Cute little Tonk
-
Look forward to seeing it painted. Wonder who would win in a stand up fight between one of these and a British Mk VIb light tank at 500 yards?
-
Finally an update on this.

Third try for the camouflage and I am more or less happy with the result:
Still alot to do on this, so I am glad I have a week off next week to finish this.
-
It's actually a hard camo scheme to pull off but I think this looks good so far. A nice pinwash will make it pop.
-
Do I spy some seated Germans at the back? Another beute project?
-
Looking good.
-
Looks great! :-*
-
Looking good :)

Thanks guys!
So it is done. L6/40 in service of 13th verstärkte Polizei Panzer Kompanie.

They will probably sit in a Beutefahrzeug at some point, but they will be done as generic loadout for german vehicles.
-
That is very nice.
-
Lovely indeed, I have a soft spot for beutepanzers in general- thank you for sharing!
-
Cheers gents!
A little bonus, as next months vehicle is only to a little part "Beute".
This is a Substitution for a Kübelwagen with MG. So it will actually see some use with my Germans for tunisia.

Love it! I really like any build which has a scratch building and conversions in it.
-
That is so cute.
-
That latest one is great too, they look so proud in that b/w picture! Any background to the users? I’m familiar with the original vehicle but background on where these beutes ended up is always interesting to me anyway :)

Sadly not much info on that one. The emblem is interesting, never seen it, but have not found a clue on that.
Here is April's Beutepanzer. Warlord Games Somua S35 :

That's very nice. :o The different subtle shades of grey bring it to life.
-
These are great, love beuts.
-
Another great model.
Keep it up.
-
Great work! :-* :-* :-*
-
Curious as to what you are using for the dust/mud on the trackes/running gear. it looks very good.
-
Thank you all!
For the dust/mud I am using just pigments. Dry applied and varnished with acryl from AK Interactive. There is a minor loss of the effects once they saw the table.
Cheers Robin
