So here's where I throw my hat in the ring!
I've been struggling for time recently (and I may again in the near future) ,but I'm going to take part and try(at least) complete something! ::)
So my original idea was for a Chaos Tree, but Steve beat me to it! lol.....So I'm just going to call it something different, even though it's still basically the same thing I wanted to build.
I recent bought the Sepulchre Guard from GW's Shadespire game. Cracking models. Some if the most dynamic models out there IMHO. So this tree will be a wee bit of scenery to go with them.
My idea is to have a tree that looks like a giant body coming out of the ground.
I've still got some air drying clay from last year's Statue of Liberty build, so I'll use that and build that around tin foil and foam.
So far I've cut out a vaguely rough circle from hardboard as a base. I've the got three scraps of foam as waist, torso and head, to give me positions. It's then been a case of hot gluing scrunched up tin foil, to make the shape more irregular and funky tree shaped. I've also used some steel wire to form the rising leg and I'll use more to make the more delicate branches.
I think getting the right "face" for this will be the hardest part!!! :? :? :?

I've used some wooden rods to support the upper tin foil branches, the played over the top of the foil.

No pressure then? ;)
Tonight's work involved using Green Stuff(kneadite). It's supposed to be a homage to one of my favourite horror/sci-fi films. I didn't stick it all on in one lump. I placed a small piece(freshly kneaded so that it was soft) and pushed and pulled it about with the metal dental tools I use for sculpting. These are coated in a slight film of washing up liquid so that the GS doesn't stick to them while sculpting.

That's looking great already, I really like the shape.

I've said it elsewhere, but I'm afraid I'm not going to get completed in time for the deadline. Good luck to all those fantastic entries!
