I will try to finish the Egyptian forces for my Sudan campaign. Went through the boxes to make sure I had all of the figures and found another 5 little black boxes. Waiting still are Scotts and yet more English. Here is the force though to complete this year:

This should keep me busy for awhile.

Unfortunately theWarstore was having a spring cleaning sale and Deedles keeps posting more excellent pictures of his Sudan forces. This was too much to resist and I essentially doubled my forces getting more Sudanese, Egyptians and British. Sigh.
Continuing my focus on the Sudanese and Egyptians, starting the previous week I now had the following ready to begin painting:

Looking forward to seeing these bad boys painted up! :D

Wound up being off most of this week and actually made some progress. Need to work on flags for the units eventually but for now the first unit is complete:

That's only about 100 figures isn't it. Ought to be able to knock that out in a week, maybe two. Right? >:D

Nice work, looking really good. :)

HA! I was off most of this week and only managed to paint 24. Still, first time painting for 2019 so any progress is a good start. lol

Very nice looking group of figures- nice, rich colours.

LPL grabbed most of my painting time but as that ended I was able to finish the 3rd unit of Sudanese for my AP Sudan project. I'm not happy with the overall basing as it sheds too much. I didn't add the second layer of sand to this unit as I need to decide how I want to refinish all of the units. I assume this will be my AP 2020 (and beyond) project at this rate.

You are hereby and forthwith banned from participation in any LPL or other painting contests until such time as this project is complete down to the last grain of sand on the last base of the last figures and duly seal coated and a game played with the entire collection.
See, I'm just being helpful! :D
Nice work.

They look great, well done. I dabbled in Sudan a bit but never acquired a force sizable enough for a game :)

Lots of great Sudan threads on this forum.

As I cleared off the painting table of random figures from ages past and new arrivals I realized I had to return to the Sudan. Still not happy with my basing technique but at least half a box is done.

Finished off more Mahdists for my
(AP 2019) AP 2020 forces. Going to wait on the basing until I have more of them painted.

Great looking force :)

Thanks Matt. I'm working on flags to finish off the last four stands. Should be educational as I have never bothered before. lol

Been far too long but this project still lives. A bit of a WIP as the bases are not complete here is the recent progress:
