Title: Female realistic apprentices?
Post by: svmariscal on February 14, 2019, 10:38:25 AM
Hi, I am planning on building a warband using the shieldmaidens KS from Bad Squiddo. I have the Seeress miniature which I think will make an excelent soothsayer, but I don't have any suitable mini for the apprentice. Ideally I am looking for a young female with simple medieval/dark ages clothing (wielding a staff would be excellent), and all the candidates I have found in Reaper and other sites are either oversexualized and/or too fantasy-like (dragon wings, sumptuous robes, fancy magic staves, etc.). I guess I could use one of the warriors as an apprentice, but I'd like a more wizardly-looking figure.

Any help?

Have you looked through North Stars offerings? There should be a couple there that match your brief, like Sigilist II's apprentice.

My new Druid Miniature (in the middle) might work as a Wizard. She’s currently in a Kickstarter and will be ready in a couple of weeks time.

With Northstar on the verge of releasing their plastic Wizards box set and the female soldiers already available, if you can't find something you like you could always build one.

Wow, those look terrific, thanks, I think I'll be getting the soldiers anyway. Also, I backed Phil's ks for the druid which I think it will fit perfectly the role of the young apprentice of an old wise woman.

Again, thanks everybody.
