Tease. ;)
Yep lol

Eagerly awaited :D

Hmmmm, intriguing don’cha think Watson? Mrs Hudson! My cape and deerstalker, I must investigate.
-
Yes!
-
Intriguing... ;D
-
Splendid ;D
-
The invisible-man is good I can't see him :D
Tell us more?
-
Exciting announcement ;D
-
:)
-
I hope the esteemed proprietor of Highgate Miniatures doesn't mind me saying, but I have, by chance, glimpsed some of the upcoming greens and I am very much looking forward to this release. There's some really nice stuff coming.
I've probably said too much already......... oh.... there's a tall, elderly gentleman at the door asking if he can come in........ he's very pale. He could do with trimming those finger nails too....
-

I've held some of the greens (greys), and the ones representing the tall, elderly gentleman to whom you refer are some of the most detailed sculpts I've ever seen.

Yessss. We definitely wants that one, we does!

Is it Nick?
-
Is it Nick?
You may have missed a key verb within the original statement!
-
Go on, throw us a scrap or two!
Did you talk Mr B into doing them?
-
Is it Nick?
lol
Less of the elderly thank you ;)
-
Go on, throw us a scrap or two!
Did you talk Mr B into doing them?
Yes he has contributed to the range. Photos soon!
-
I’ve seen them. They’re rubbish. Nothing to see here. Move along...
lol
(Actually, there are a few very tasty characterful sculpts in there already... can’t wait to see where this range goes... )
-
Less of the elderly thank you ;)
And none of the tall
:D
-
;D
-
"A new range of 28mm Gothic Horror figures"
That's a mighty strange way to spell 1840's Commanche from Boothill miniatures... ;-)
-
lol
The timescales not too far off, I am sure they will be interchangeable ;) :D
-
Our first release from the extremely talented Matthew Bickley, I am pleased to present the:
VVampire Lords and Masters
(http://leadadventureforum.com/gallery/37/86-250219201917-37786179.jpeg)
Coming next Professors and Academics...
-
Love 'em. Love 'em. Love 'em.
-
These are nice, ho long before we can get them?
-
Having had a close look at them in the (undead) flesh at the weekend, they are, really astonishingly brilliant sculpts.

This. Fantastic work. 8)
-
These are nice, ho long before we can get them?
They are on their way to the casters tomorrow. So I expect a three-four week turnaround. Maybe sooner.
There will be twelve figures in the first release. More pics soon. ;)
-
Having had a close look at them in the (undead) flesh at the weekend, they are, really astonishingly brilliant sculpts.
I also was lucky enough to get to see them close up at the weekend and I was blown away by how good they are. I'm very much looking forward to their release as I don't think there is anything quite like them available. They're 'must buys' as far as I'm concerned.
-
He’s getting a bit good that Matt Bickley, isn’t he?
-
Holy heck those a few good! I'm in as soon as they're available.

These are superb! Will definitely be buying them. :-* :-* :-*
-
How are these going to scale up with other ranges out there?
-
:o
Good golly, they’re good!!!
They are gushing with gothic malice and malevolence
8)
-
I also got to see these over the weekend. The figures are all that everyone has said here. This is going to be an amazing range :-*
-
How are these going to scale up with other ranges out there?
The Vampire Lords are on the large side, 30-32mm. They were purposefully made to be taller than the normal figures to add an extra level of menace.
The human characters are average 28mm foot to eye and will blend with existing ranges. The nevt set of Vampires will be the Fledglings - newly turned Undead, they will Be 28mm. Then will come Vampire Queens who will also be 28s. I have plans for Ancients as well, they will be something special as well.
Lots to come. :)
-
Awesome that’s just what I wanted to know :)
-
:o 8) :-*
Awesome start to the new range,my favorites so far are the one on the left and the one on the right :)
Can I ask,are the bases cast on the mini, the photos seem to suggest they are separate ,of course I could be mistaken :)
Lovely sculpts by Matt :-*
Cheers
Keith
-
The bases are separate. The figures come with a 2mm lug on one foot. You will need to drill a hole in the base and then plug the figure in.
-
Aha!
I was right then, despite not being in the close circle of gamers who have handled your stuff over the weekend ;) :o
Thanks for clearing that up for me Nick :)
Cheers
Keith
-
Damn! They look too good to resist.
So I won’t. :)
-
Awesome :-*
Having assisted Nick with some of his photos, I know what's coming next - you won't be disappointed :)
-
Very stylish set of vamps :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Top hat dude is my favourite
Looking forward to seeing some paint on these, and some more figures?

There are twelve figures on their way to Grffin Moulds today. Photos of the rest to follow in the next few days.
I expect to have these for sale at Salute, available on the Oshiro Model Terrain stand.
The next batch of twelve are being sculpted at present. ;D
-
He’s getting a bit good that Matt Bickley, isn’t he?
He is simply the best! Mind, I'm not exactly unbiased.
-
Love the figures.
I am in, in, in, can't wait.
:-* :-* :-*
-
Very nice! :-* I am really looking forward to the Professors and Academics!
Lon
-
Amazing figures.
Great job.

Here are the first of the mortal adventurers, those with the knowledge to combat the evil cult of the Undead.
Professors and Academics, Sculpted by the excellent Andrew May.

-
Gush gush gush :-*

-
Excellent - another reason to look forward to Salute. Are you taking (pre-)orders for collection at the show?. atb GDonk
-
The figures will be available at Salute on the OSHIRO modelterrain Stand TB04 and will then be available via them for mail order.
We can sort out pre orders for collection on the day no problem.
There will definitely be the first three packs for sale on the day. I should have greens on display for the next twelve. 😂
-
Any chance of seeing freshly turned vampires in hunting poses with their claws and fangs bared?
-
Any chance of seeing freshly turned vampires in hunting poses with their claws and fangs bared?
Yep, the first four “Fledglings” should be with me next week and they will be as described above. Feral killers who have not learned to control the bloodlust. ;) :)
-
They're great, though I can't make my mind up which one is my favourite, the first or second from the left. I'll be buying this pack too! Very much looking forward to seeing the fledglings.
-
Absolutely fantastic range of figures Nick! :-*
I wasn't there to fondle them at the weekend but the pics are enough for me. I've been looking for inspiration to get the London buildings out again and this is it.
In case I've missed it, is there anything else in the pipeline?
-
I love the professors Nick. Perfect to fight the undead :-*
-
In case I've missed it, is there anything else in the pipeline?

Don’t listen to him, it will all be fine lol

Looking bloody good, mate.

Did we? Was that at Bierschenke?
How am I supposed to remember that, I’d had a few ;) lol
-
Did we? Was that at Bierschenke?
How am I supposed to remember that, I’d had a few ;) lol
lol lol
We did, it was and I should have realised that you would not remember at your age......
;D
-
It's far from the most exciting aspect of the wonderful new line but i think the foot post/peg thing is a great idea. No over sized integral base to work around & no slotta-base nonsense to clip away at.
-
lol lol
We did, it was and I should have realised that you would not remember at your age......
;D
;D
Let’s talk about it some more then :)

And firemen :D
-
And children... will nobody think of the cheeeldren...? lol
-
I don't even game Gothic horror and i want these minis! Lovely sculpts!
-
Dead bodies would be useful, say 1 per pack as described. But I’ll be buying these in any case :-*
-
Dead and wounded is a definite possibility. :)
I'll post pics of the next four shortly. ;D
-
Excellent launch Nick - great to see so many new minis with so many more to come. :o ;D :D
-
It all sounds great, but is there a possibles list? If so, are angry mob, cringing minions, and hunting and fighting dogs plus handlers on it?
-
It all sounds great, but is there a possibles list? If so, are angry mob, cringing minions, and hunting and fighting dogs plus handlers on it?
All suggestions (sensible ones!) will be considered, my list is not exhaustive and isn't complete there are lots on paper I would like to add funds permitting etc.
I like Angry mob and dogs/handlers.
-
Tarts.

Will you buy them though?

The third pack Gentlemen Adventurers:
This completes the first release which will be available at Salute. I am hoping to have greens for the next twelve in time for display at Salute. :)
-
They'll be great for Victorian stuff as a rule. I think the middle two are my favourites. Can't wait to see what's next.
-
The first 12 figures are great.
If the rest of the figures are as good,
a lot of people will be spends lots of money. ;)
A very cunning plan, Malamute, I must say. :o
Yes, I will be throwing money, lots of money,
to purchase what ever is made. :)
-
They look very good. :)
I'll probably buy some. ::)
-
Excellent!
-
Like these a lot,a definite for me :)
-
Excellent. Very excited about these 8)
-
The bases are separate. The figures come with a 2mm lug on one foot. You will need to drill a hole in the base and then plug the figure in.
Will the bases be available to purchase separately?
-
Yes, I'll be stocking them on my webshop in the next week or so.
-
I'm liking all the suggestions, except maybe Holmes and Watson. I think we've reached market saturation with them.
-
I'm liking all the suggestions, except maybe Holmes and Watson. I think we've reached market saturation with them.
It was tongue in cheek because he won’t do them :D
-
lol
-
Werewolves? Decent mean looking one
-
Not sure about Werewolves, I have wanted to do some, but again there are lots of them around. We will see, lots still to do for the Undead first.
I have seen the greens for the first of the Fledgling Vampires, (the recently turned) and very nice they are looking. I should have these this week, so expect photos in due course. ;D
-
I’ve seen how he wants you to paint them. I’d wait if I were you lol
lol
Excellent Nicco :-*
-
It gets better and better. Lovely additions! :-*
-
I have to go with the crowd here - excellent figures.
-Michael
-
Fledgling Vampires, the recently turned. Unable to control the bloodlust like their masters, they kill and feed with a frenzy. They are deadly feral killers wearing torn and tattered clothes .
Unfortunately they will not be cast in time for Salute. A second pack to accompany these will be underway in April. :)
-
:-*
Super scuplts
8)
-
Cracking 8)
I’m scared to paint them all though lol
-
Brilliant!

Really liking those.

Cracking!
-
Perfect miniatures for the Red Hand faction of Dracula's America.
-
An amazing range, Nick, congrats :-* They are really re-sparking my interest in Gothic Horror topic! When and where can I buy them? The link provided by the screenshot ends in an empty blogspot page :'(
-
Hi Alex, glad you like them, they are being released at Salute and will then be available to buy via the Oshiro Model Terrain website.
The blog is yet to be added to with gaming info, pics etc. :)
-
I'll buy some when they are available. :)
-
Quality!!
-
They look great - definitely on the 'wish list'.
-
;D Brilliant!
-
Just back after a long break from LAF and see these! Amazing sculpts- love them, the recently turned in particular! 'Highgate Miniatures' too- nice in-joke too ;)
-

We will also be co hosting the Oshiro/Highgate/Wiley Games participation game of Fistful of Lead, Tales of Horror on table GA06 where you can join in the fun or just stop by for a chat. We don't bite, well not all of us ... ;)

Looking damned good, but aren’t those splayed fingers going to be a bit of a casting challenge?
-
Looking damned good, but aren’t those splayed fingers going to be a bit of a casting challenge?
Not really, they are being cast in low temperature moulds to make sure all the fine details are retained. :)
-
Thanks for the close ups.
Love them.
-
Definitely on my must acquire list! :-*
-
Excellent, the details are superb.
-
I really love these sculpts. I hadn't intended starting any new projects this year, until I saw these now I really want them. One question though, will they be made in metal or resin?
-
Metal all the way (resin bases) :)
-
"Metal all the way"
Thank you! Now the long wait until Salute to buy them.

-
Fantastic figures! The Vampires are asking for some poor innocent bystanders...
-
Lovely start to the range Nick. I’m just surprised it’s taken you so long to produce your own Gothic horror figures. ;)
As for suggestions, some peelers in capes with lanterns would be nice. Detectives and flying squad?
-
Excellent - looking forward to these :-*
-
Something a little bit different by way of an update. During the coming weeks we are going to be adding a series of stories to the website/blog detailing the adventures of a consulting detective in Victorian London investigating crimes of a Vampiric nature.
Here is an exert from The Casebook of Sheraton Howell:
In the absence of Sheraton Howell (who is currently 'places unknown'), I, Dr James Whittle, coroner and advisor to one of Europe's finest Consulting Detectives (his great London rival notwithstanding), shall be recording the many strange occurrences that appear to be besieging our city at present.
Unlike the many other cases of Consulting Detective Sheraton Howell and his friend of many years, your humble correspondent, a recent case is not one that I would willingly share, except with those who have also seen what should not be seen. It would never be believed and would no doubt lead to an enforced period of recuperation at one of the hospitals for those of a broken mind that appear so common these days. In fact I do wonder how many souls residing in such places have seen what we have seen.....
The rest can be seen here: https://highgateminiatures.blogspot.com/2019/03/the-casebook-of-sheraton-howell-part-i.html
:)
-
Excellent site you have put up.
Can't wait till they are posted to Oshiro.
Such wonderful figures, they should fly out the store. ;D
-
let me know if you wish to do a pre order for collection on the day.
I would like to pre-order them, how do I arrange this with you?

Air mail surely :)
I fear I’ve been seduced into another new period.
I'm assuming you'll be at Salute? Are you running a game this year? If you find the time come over and have a chat we'll be at table GA06 :)
-
Sadly, not running a game this year, too many real life issues in the way. I’m trying to see if I can justify the expense of a visit (or do I just spend the money on new figures and buildings lol).
-
I’m trying to see if I can justify the expense of a visit (or do I just spend the money on new figures and buildings lol).
Spend more and enjoy both is the only solution ;) lol
-
How can we Colonials get a-hold of them?
-
On line via Oshiro Model Terrain after Salute. They will be on their website.
-
Looking forward to ordering!
Any idea when the gypsies and others will be out, for those hoping to pay shipping once?
-
Here is the production list of what is coming and a rough timeline
Underway at the moment:

-
Haha well it looks like I’ll be paying shipping three times! :-*
-
I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this range. I think I'll start a petition persuading James at Oshiro to release a derelict gothic asylum ;)
-
The asylum is a great idea. He'll probably love doing it!
lol

-
Yeah, very versatile figures. I like them!
-
Hoooo, very nice, they'd fit just fine in an asylum, one for curing (well sort of) and one for exorcising :-)
-
Two great character sculpts! :-*
-
Yes, they look excellent and that last one has a lot of uses I think.
-
Holy moly — that priest is perfect!
-
Lots of character in those - very nice :-*

In case you are wondering the above figure is wearing a garlic wreath around his neck and carries a bible under his arm and a bag in the other hand which holds stakes, cross and hammer!
The scholar below conceals a revolver behind his back...

Lots more to come! :)

So we launched at Salute yesterday with lots of very positive comments and plenty of interest in the range. :)
They will be going on the Oshiro Modelterrain website this week for online ordering. :)
There are some photos taken at Salute on the blog:

I will also have photos to show of the next set of Gentlemen Adventurers later in the week. ;D
-
Glad they did well at Salute Nick - they are excellent.
Love the garlic necklace on the latest one.
-
I collected the first three sets at Salute on Saturday and they are magnificent sculpts. Very pleased to have them and look forward to the next round of releases. Also great to have met Nick and James.
-
Thanks Joe, it was good to chat to you briefly. I hope the long trip home was uneventful.

Only resin items are primed, the figures are normal bare metal.

Trying hard to hold out for further releases to pay shipping as few times as possible ... I am especially excited to see the upcoming Carpathians ...
EDIT: by which I mean Gypsies!

Funnily enough we were talking about the Szgany a couple of days ago. I'm going to move them up the list. The first pack will come after the resourceful ladies, you should expect to see the greens sometime in late May. :)
-
That’s great news! I just ordered up some vardos from Sarissa.
-
Congratulations on the new venture, Nick. They look brilliant. Looking forward to getting mine tomorrow :)

Well, I can't top that, but I'm close. ;)
Ordered April 11 here in the USA at what would have been just past 11 p.m. local time in Great Britain, and it arrived in Ohio this morning (Saturday). I'm gonna call that a mere 8 days, and is evidence of a commitment to excellent service.
Many thanks for a superb product :-* :-* :-*, and--unfortunately for my bank account--there will be more orders to come. :D

Ive been trying to get on the Oshiro website, all I get is a yellow empty basket in the top right hand corner. Any idea what's going on, as I so need these figures.

Do you have a blocker active on your browser? I do and some of the menu drop downs didn’t show, so I marked the page as safe and everything works fine now.

Do what Steve says and if you're still having problems then drop me a pm.

All sorted, order in. I can't wait to get some paint on them.

Most excellent :-*
I look forward to getting my hands on them

They are superb 8)

The one in the right is my favourite, it's very Irene Adler. Very useful figures. If like how austere the faces are, that bit of uptight Victorian menace!
-
Hopefully get mine soon.

Eff me! They will do nicely! :-*
I look forward to getting my hands on them
Dirty boy!

Love the new figure packs.

So does the Fistful of Lead along with Tales of Horror address all the types of figures you are creating or will there be gaps on how to handle certain figures?
-
So does the Fistful of Lead along with Tales of Horror address all the types of figures you are creating or will there be gaps on how to handle certain figures?
Yes all the figures can be used in FFOL ToH. (other rules sets are available, ;)) You have options to construct your hunting party around any type of figure you choose to use and you can arm them as you like. The rules allow for firearms, melee weapons, bows etc. ToH has rules for creature specific weapons such as stakes, silver weapons, crosses, garlic and holy water.
Ffol ToH also has options for all the traditional Hollywood monsters, Zombies, Ghouls, werewolves etc, its not tied to my range of figures. I hope that helps.
-
looking at hand to face ratio... Are they ladyboys? :)
-
"Ffol ToH also has options for all the traditional Hollywood monsters, Zombies, Ghouls, werewolves etc, its not tied to my range of figures. I hope that helps."
Yes it helps. I am new to this genre so I wanted to make certain the rules I purchased would dovetail with your addictive figure line. :)
-

They will dovetail in just fine with my figures, you won't need to rewrite or add anything to ToH to make them fit. :)
Part of the fun with ToH and FFoL in general is creating your groups. Each member of the group can be any type of person - Professor, Priest, Adventurer, villager, soldier etc. They will have various traits which can help or hinder their actions or their enemies during the game.
You then get to arm the team member with whatever weapons you choose from the rules. All types are listed.
As an example taking the new Resourceful Ladies pack.
Amelie the Crossbow armed lady might be a D12 leader so she gets the leader trait and the veteran trait (enabling her to use a D12). She then gets to chose other traits, one might be good shot which gives her a +1 to on her to hit roll. She is wearing a cross so might take the devout trait giving her a +1 to resist mesmerism and the Occult expert trait which gives her another +1 to her to hit roll.
Aryanne her twin sister is a swordswoman, so she gets the swordman trait +1 in Close combat, she might also choose the Ferocious trait which gives a +1 to wound rolls.
Now take one of the figures from the Professors pack and give him traits that fit with him being a learned scholar and expert Vampire HUnter. Then arm him with cross and stake etc.
The Vampires in the rules cover various types of Vampire from the all powerful Vampire Lords and Queens, lower class Acolytes to the newly turned Fledglings. So far the Lords are available and the first pack of Fledglings is due in from the casters next week. Vampire Queens and more fledglings will be along soon. A Vampire coven in ToH usually comprises five figures, so you could use any combination of the available figures to make up this group.
Gypsy henchmen are up next to be sculpted and not surprisingly Henchmen are included in the rules.
I hope that gives you some ideas. The FFoL system is a very versatile rules set, you'll need to core set to be able to play, the TOH supplement gives you everything you need to create a Gothic Horror game.

Just about to paint the vampire master with top hat and cane. The problem is I cannot fathom out what's the ornate top of his cane ? Can anybody tell me.
The figures are superb by the way.

I have no idea how he manages to get the detail on such a small piece. If you magnify it you can make out the design. It’s incredible.
-
Are you considering bobbies? Most of the ones I have seen are armed with truncheons. Would be nice to see some armed with firearms.
-
London Bobbies are on the possibles to do list for next year . Mine are slated to be truncheon armed though.
If you want them sooner Westwind does some very nice firearm wielding ones in their Empire of the Dead Range. They are compatible size wise with the Highgate range.
-
There’s also some rifle/pistol armed bobbies in Foundry’s range of Victorian civilians.

Good news! There's nothing like those fledglings out there, they're excellent sculpts. The Victorians will be very useful to and not just for Gothic Horror.

Thank you, a second pack of Fledglings is underway at present along with the first pack of Szgany Gypsies. ;D

Wonderful!

I need the fledglings! :)

The fledglings are great. Is Mr B doing the second pack too?
Who’s sculpting the gypsies?

Yes Matthew is doing the Vampires. Andrew May is doing the Gypsies.

Just received my next three packs, very fast delivery thanks. These next three are absolutely lovely miniatures. To be honest, I don't need that many figures, but I can't resist collecting them all. Looking forward to the next release. :-*

Funnily enough, just received photos of the first of the gypsy packs this morning. :) Some minor fine tuning and I will have the greens in my hands next week ready for photos.
Release will be late July and will hopefully comprise:
Resourceful Ladies
Gypsies 1
Fledglings 2 (on the workbench at the moment)
:)

"Some minor fine tuning and I will have the greens in my hands next week ready for photos."
I will await with bated breath. That's better than waiting with baited breath as I have never cared for the flavor of worms. ;)
-
lol
I hope you like them, they are not your traditional fantasy type Gypsies witch bandanas and hoop ear rings. They are based on historical Romanian Gypsies from the late 1800s.
They might not be quite what you are expecting.

I am planning on doing a convention type game set in the late1800s in Canterbury with the working title "The Canterbury Tales Revisited" I was hoping the gypsies would appear as servants of a certain gentleman from the Balkans who has relocated his international business in bodily fluids toCanterbury. I suspect the retainers you are creating will pass quite well based on your description. The fantasy gypsies are too farcical. I am hoping yours will have that understated sinister appearance that evokes a sense of threat.
-
Photos next week. ;D
They are a scruffy bunch of untrustworthy types. You certainly wouldn’t want them to tarmac your driveway. ;) lol

After this release we will produce another pack of Gypsies, more hunters and the Vampire Queens next. ;D

I suggest you google some images then, particularly of the hats in question. ;)

I have been trying to decide how to paint the gypsies when I get them. Tried to find something in color on the internet but had no luck. The short "jackets" seem to call out for some color like dark green or black. The discs on the short "jacket"I am guessing would be silver. The hats would be brown, grey or black? The one looks like he has a waist coat or cummerbund. Shirts would probably be white. Trousers would fall into the grey, black brown or tan routine. Nick, if your sculptor found something on the internet please share before I try to paint some form of spandex on these asphalt repair men. ;D
-
The second Downy Junior Holmes film should help.
Although spandex (80's style of course) would be entertaining lol

If you Google Szgany, you won't find anything, All the images of Romanian Gypsies circa 1890-1900 I found are in black and white. But you can get an idea from these pics.
Jackets, trousers and hats - any combination of various browns, faded blacks and greys. Dark green I think would work. Several of the figures are in shirtsleeves with waistcoats again I think these should be dark colours, sometimes with some embroidery.
Shirts are going to be white or off white with some decorative embroidery, check out the colourised photo below.
The discs on the jackets are probably metallic silver.
Note the SMALL hats ;)
And what appear to be lemons hanging from his coat lol
And trousers with fancy patterns!

Indeed check the second image you linked to and you will see exactly how high each of those hats actually sits on the head. Especially top hats which is what your first comment related to, they were worn high on the head.
Don’t recall any of mine wearing straw boaters, which I believe were more fashionable in the Edwardian era.
But if you still insist it’s a common fault with the Miniatures then that’s fine with me. You are of course entitled to your opinion, however misinformed you are. :)
-
To even add another wrinkle to this discourse, hats even during the same era probably varied from region to region. The figures look nice and probably no one other then maybe a history hattery aficionado could set the record straight. I suspect once I get a coat of paint on them no one who I game with would have any knowledge of what proper dress is for Victorian Gothic gypsies. I think Nick his done his research, so I would tip my top hat to him, if I had one, and will continue collecting. My only complaint is he must use the lash non sparingly on his sculptors so they make the figures faster and faster. lol

Thanks Lon, but Nicks photography does seem to bring out the best in them. Something to do with having them stood in front of a house I expect :D

If Vampires don't show in mirrors is it possible to capture their image in a camera? Special film perhaps?
“It is not known what became of the photographer as only his camera and film were discovered close to the spot where this image was captured. A rare picture indeed, it now seems possible for some Vampires to be captured on film whilst others are not. In the same token some have mastered the ability to shape shift or control the elements. There is still much we cannot yet comprehend about these creatures of the night.”

Oh my.

Lovely 8)

Wonderful miniatures, with a lot of energy in them. Have you planned innocent civilians in this range? Poor farmers, perhaps...

Hi Juan, maybe some drained victims... >:D

Looking extremely good. The last one is perfect for a coven inch have in mind.

The wise woman is bloody creepy, but a very nice sculpt. The gypsies should get a lot of use as both friend and foe.

Very interesting new figures!!!

Nice, can see a couple of uses beyond pure gothic as well.

Are they friend or foe?
I guess that depends on if you want to buy a rug....

Really like the wise woman !

Lovely miniatures :)
How do they scale with Westwind, Artizan and Foundry?

Lovely miniatures :)
How do they scale with Westwind, Artizan and Foundry?
They scale in perfectly alongside all of the above. :)
I use them with my existing collection. The only figures that come out taller are the Vampire Lords, I wanted them to be big imposing figures. :)

Thanks for the reply, just as my wallet feared :)

Let him have a biscuit with his gruel if he is a good boy.

I, personally, am not too fussed but, bearing in mind this is a Victorian-themed rage, capes may feel more appropriate.
Not that I am an expert on anything.....

I vote for no capes. Ripper Street 8)

If I receive the Greens for the Vampire Queens within the next week then yes, they might be cast up by the end of the month. It depends upon Griffin Moulds, their turn around time for new moulds is about three weeks.
-
Good to hear. I can't wait to see the vampire queens.
-
Looking forward to the Queens 8)

Here are the Highgate Miniatures figures from my LPL13 round 1 entry :)
Amazingly dynamic, beautifully detailed miniatures, and a joy to paint.
The football, I'm afraid, is my own addition - wildly inappropriate to the genre, but the pose just seemed to cry out for it :D

I love those Vampire Lords but have been struggling how to fit them into what I am already doing, pyoject-wise (I aint jumping to Gothic Horror as well!).
Anyways this shot by Captain Blood has finally helped me nail 'em down....
Mr Oldman on the left was always easy, I can have him jump straight into Strange Aeons without any bother, but the other three had me stumped until now: Elven Mages!
Yep, they will make great spellcasters for my Melnibonean-influenced Elf army.
Result!
:D
Gonna HAVE to get them now.....

Just received the Greens for the Vampire Queens... will photograph them ASAP... ;D

Yep, They are very elf-like - especially the second on the right. With silver elf-hair and a white outfit he'd be a dead ringer for Celeborn...

More deadly than the male of the species, the Vampire Queens and Ladies, each characterised by their different strengths and traits.
We present to you; The Innocent, The Ancient, The Seductress and The Arrogant Blood Queen.
Sculpted by the very talented Matthew Bickley these will be cast up and ready to buy in early November along with the second pack of Gypsies and the first pack of London characters.

Are there any vampires in the Star wars universe? :D
In Legends there are (which is all the stuff before Lucas got rid). They’re not called vampires of course but they have the same traits; I can’t remember what they’re called though ::)
Give one a lightsabre for that extra bit of nastiness >:D

Vampirella was not the inspiration for this figure. She’s wearing far too many clothes ;) lol

Plenty of alternative uses for those too!

Elves again?
Yep, but also sci-fi (and retro sci-fi) civilians, Pulp villains, fantasy sorceresses and that slinky lass could slink just about anywhere she wanted to!
:D
-
They are just amazing! Great additions to what is already a fantastic range.
-
They're great, might have to order two packs :D
-
Those are really gorgeous figures, there’s a real sense of style to this range - dammit, my project list overload is now at breaking point.
Dear Santa.........
-
:-*
-
The Ancient is one of my favourite sculpts I've seen out of your range so far :)
I've been focusing on high fantasy for a while now, but I think I really need to make the jump across!
-
The quality of these sculpts is quite remarkable, but you must know that and I hope be very proud of what you're achieving here.
Have you thought of doing something similar set in the Far East, I believe you might have some contact with a chap who already dabbles in the area. There is plenty to go at, that fits into the fantastical world of folk myth in the East and could also fit into other more generic themes elsewhere.

Not sure about involving the Far East. Doing everything I want to do for the Victorian London is going to take some time to finish at this rate lol

Great packs! The vampire queens are nicely varied and offer something new, in my opinion. Gypsies will be very useful for all sides. The London Characters pack might just be my favourite of the human packs.

Excellent :)

Another nice eclectic set of characters there, Mama!

Excellent characters! That hunchback looks like a proper sort and no mistake.
lol lol
That is a little disturbing as 'a proper sort' means something a little different around these parts.
Unless hunchbacks really are your secret thing, of course...
;D ;D
-
Then it most definitely means something different!
-
Great figures :-*
-
Love those nuns
-
I don’t think that’s allowed :)
But they are nice and will suit a few other projects.
-
London characters II and the new fledglings held up by Plague-related issues? Or locked in a fierce battle in some dark alley, too busy to report for duty at the shop?
-Michael
-
In this case “The dead travel slowly “ lol
I am waiting for our casters to reopen so they can be put into a mould. Hopefully not too long to wait now.

Terrific project.

love 'em!

Could no longer hold off for the hunters and acolytes — order placed!

Glad you like them. The next batch will be cast up in a couple of weeks.

Fantastic sculpts, some really gorgeous details :)
I've not read through the whole thread, but I'm wondering if you've done scale shots before with stuff like Westwind etc.?

Not specific comparison shots, but if you scroll through some of our AARs on this board you will see lots of in action shots alongside other ranges such as Westwind. They will blend in fine, they are similar proportions.

Have you seen the Highgate minis on ebay at the moment, they are STUNNING!

I have a one of his figures and it is stunningly well done, so no surprise with these results.

OOps, too late to the dance - they are gone. Hopefully to a good home.

So as they say what's next? I would like to see a group of Victorian era cult figures. No one has a figures aimed for this era. Most who make cult figures gear way earlier pre Victorian or the 1920s. This niche would fit your miniatures quite well.

Tong!

Have you got anything specific in kind for what a Victorian cultist may look like?
They are already on the possible to do list, I like the Egyptian themed cultists in Young Sherlock Holmes and had those in mind.
Up next is the Master Vampire and his brides :)

Vampire, brides, cultists - all very appealing

Aleister Crowley in a top hat would fit the bill surely? He was born in the late Victorian age at any rate. Of course whether you would want to immortalise such an unpleasant character in lead is another matter entirely.
-
Oh dear. Mentioning A. Crowley has made me think a miniature of Arthur Machen or MR James would be brilliant however just me thinking out loud. Now a Helen Vaughn mini! :)

I was thinking Egyptian types too since Victorians loved the East and Fareast cultures. Maybe arming them with a few pistols and cudgels? The leader of course would have the "book". Got to give them fezzes and maybe a face covering like a medical mask, robes standard apparel. Two packs would probably suffice The leader and his female assistant upscale harem girl look in one pack with two follower types with a knife and another with a crossbow. Then a pack with at least two with pistols, and two with cudgels. That way you could do a mix.
