I want to see if it helps me too - so far you've finished a lot already this year. Keep it going.

Not withstanding a few blips caused by real life, my pace is accelerating. Hey von Lucky lets have an "arms race" lol

Done!

Nice work, keep it up.

Having seen Vodkafan's stuff in the 'flesh' I can say that it
is even better than the photos.
Most of the vehicles now have pride of place on my shelves.
The Russian truck, complete with fur hated driver, is parked up
in my eastern front village awaiting Vodkafan to finish his Fascist 'horde'.

Which diecasts are those? Look like Lledo with new tires?

Hi Fram, thanks for your interest! The Bedford Ambulance is a Lledo van with the wheel arches opened up a bit and 17mm Dinky wheels added, to fit in with has.been's repainted Dinkys. I was really pleased with it as the original toy was only 10p from a car boot sale. Sorry I don't have a pic of the original.
The Russian truck is a Lledo 1934 chevy van (see pic of original examples) with scratchbuilt rear and new 16mm resin wheels. It is one of my favourite diecasts for converting because it scales so well with 28mm and the back part is easily removable.

Here is another of the same type mated to a HAT T34 chassis:

The German small box van is a Hot Wheels toy, a Model A :

I may add a Jerrycan, spare wheel and some stowage to make it more military. The wheels again are 16mm resin.
The little scout car is a fictional Matchbox toy (but obviously based on the Ferret) with new wheels and bits added.

Do you remove the original paint work or primer spray over it?

I take them apart and strip them in neat Dettol back to the metal, spray prime (Halfords grey primer) then undercoat before painting.

Thank you.

Vodkafan does wonderful work.
I feel sure he would take on commissions, if you asked him nicely.
What he does involves a lot of work, though he does downplay it.
The simple phrase,
'I take them apart and strip them in neat Dettol'
can take the best part of a week, and working with neat Dettol is not fun.

Yes, the Lledos still work wonderfully with new tires. Were the dinky wheels hard to come by? They seem perfect for adding that "army" look to the Lledos.

Nice work.

I have a stock of the dinky wheels taken from wrecks, and different sizes of new replacement Dinky and Corgi rubber tyres bought from ebay. I only use the Dinky wheels on stuff for has.been though, as he doesn't mind them. For my own models I prefer to replace them with resin wheels.

Thank you!

Tally for this week- only 11 :( Finished a couple more drivers and these 9 Over The Wire figures. I started these a couple of years ago for a project I lost interest in. This week they were fun to paint then suddenly right at the end they weren't, I had trouble with some of my paint colours being both watery and "draggy". So it took me 4 days to finish what I should have done in one. But I like them.
There is no Lewis gunner in the range so he is a conversion. The officer is from First Corps. Some of the riflemen have headswaps for variety and TAG waterbottles added. The flame thrower chap I added heavy gauntlets from green stuff.

Lewis gunner and Number 2 with green stuff magazine pouches added

Next week some Ironclad Guardsmen! Thanks for looking.

As always nice stuff Vodkafan.

Very warm tones - I like them.
