My young son got three of these free with a recent copy of his CBeebies comic (minus the 15mm figure, of course!). I took this picture while he's at school to avoid arousing his suspicions.

Now I have just got to wait for him to lose interest in them before I can pounce and paint them up.
I feel a bit like a vulture watching an animal as the life saps out of it! >:D

Yeah I can see that model looking pretty cool once painted.. good find ;)

Buy him something else and they'll soon be in your clutches

Good find. I'm off to the newsagent to see if they have the comic in and buy up their stock!

It's a weekly comic and it wasn't the current issue so you might be out of luck unless you want to get an army of Tamba glove puppets! (see http://www.cbeebiesmagazine.com/ (http://www.cbeebiesmagazine.com/) if you need an explanation).

Not bad for a freebie.

You and me both. But the perk pays for itself!
And to stray a little off-topic for a moment: is that dyed foam bitties on the miniature's base? I quite like the look of that. Also, what company is responsible for your little spacefarer?

Nice use of an antique GW 15mm traveller there, Capthugeca. Don't see those guys around very often :)

It's not GW, Geronimo. It's from the Laserburn range originally by Tabletop Figures and now avaialble from www.15mm.co.uk (http://www.15mm.co.uk)

Okay.....but GW produced them originally, as part of their Spacefarers range. No pics on SoL unfortunately but I still have that fella and many of his compatriots bought way back in around 1979 :D
EDIT just browsing the stuff on your link and I've got loads of those minis, vehicles too....I do have vague recollections of Citadel discontinuing them waaay back and somebody else picking them up. Nice stuff!

Are you sure? My 1980 Laserburn rulebook lists the figures as produced by Tabletop Games even back then. Citadel certainly produced the 15mm Traveller range at the same time, but that figure is not part of that range. It would be interesting to know more about this.
Wasn't the Spacefarers range 25mm?

I am pretty sure that the TTF were never produced by Citadel.
Citadel produced a 15mm Traveller range but the TTF figures were not part of that.
The Spacefarer range was 25mm. You can see quite a few of the figures here:-
