A little while back after some encouragement from the forum I published two articles in a popular wargaming magazine (so as not to seem passive aggressive due to this forum, I will say it is NOT wargames illustrated), all good and well, articles published, got an invoice for the amount I was due to be paid then...nothing.
Over the months since I have been n contact with the editor (I will say I waited a bit too much early on without sending off an email so the editor was surprised when I messaged him in October) but since then nothing, I keep emailing me, he tell s me he has sent messages to the billing department and that's it.
Some have advised me to take it as a lesson learned and go to other publications with article ideas but im not ready to give up just yet, so any advice chaps?

It’s absolutely not ok not to be paid, if you were told you were going to be. I’ve sent a pm.

Maybe go to Citizens advice and speak to them, even if they can't give you specific advice they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Citizens Advice Bureau is a very good idea. I have found them very helpful - so much so I now volunteer there!
The free online "Advice Guide" https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/ (https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/) is a good starting place and if you need more help or just want a bit of consumer "muscle" go in and ask. Most bureaux will either assist you through the small claims process or know someone who can.

Definitely chase them. Write a letter (a proper letter on paper in an envelope) and send it to the publisher (find the name of the person in charge, and send it to them personally).
It might be an administrative error, but it should have been sorted by now.

I've had some bad experiences in the past with very very slow payment for articles in a particular publication. It stopped me writing for them.
It's not acceptable.

Have now sent an email to the the man in charge as per James Morris's advice, as far as i can see this particular publication has done this plenty so methinks I will try wargames illustrated in future...

Seconded. They don't deserve the consideration you have given them, by not naming them, given the way they have treated you.
