Just a couple of small early Spanish buildings for a client although I’ve got another Greek one (different client) on the go as well that I’ll post here when it’s done.
28mm Roman ( ::)) for scale.

Lovely work as usual.
Thanks for posting.

Lovely buildings. :-* :-* :-*
I was thinking on doing something like that for my greek coastal vilage and yours are a inspiration. :)
-
Thanks chaps and Helen :)
-
Nice crisp buildings.
-
Very nice, these will certainly grace your client's wargames table.
-
You do very nice stuff.
-
quite simple but really great job!
-
Jolly nice James, and the tower is very versatile. Would do for almost anywhere hot, and any era.
-
Many thanks gents :)
The Greek build is now done and if I get any more ancient work in I'll post them here.
Base is to match Dave's existing terrain and the roofs are removable.

Thanks again gents :)
Got a request to 'pimp' up an mdf farm. I added roof tiles, stone around the base, a cobbled interior courtyard, a wooden floor in the tower, new steps into the courtyard and texture to the walls. The client sent one of his bases for me to match and I think the colour is pretty close. There was also a scratchbuilt shack and two items of scatter terrain that were part of the job.
I wasn't really impressed by the mdf kit (from Sarissa). It went together ok but it's just been rushed. Grey board for the main roofs was a poor choice and lack of decent support under the courtyard isn't good either. The join in the courtyard could've been drawn better so it followed the supposed stone work. There were also what appeared to be construction lines that hadn't been removed and ended up as score lines on some of the walls; this might have been intentional but I personally think not. 2mm wasn't a great choice for wall material either; 3mm at least would've been better.
These are, of course, my personal opinions, others may vary...

That's come out very well actually. The ground to first-floor joint is really the only visual jar. You've definitely improved it no end! 😂
-
Only 3 words James.
GANGS OF ROME... ;D ;D ;D
-
I have built one of these so its very useful to see how you have enhanced your version.
did you use plastic card to make the roof tiles?
-
Thanks chaps :)

Another extremely versatile piece.

Yep, he knows what he is about.

Lovely work on these Jim I really like the roofs and your usual little additions :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Very nice indeed :-*
I can't help wondering, given the issues you mentioned, is there much of a saving between pimping up an mdf kit or starting from scratch?

Thanks again :)

There would be a bit more work in making from scratch but not a massive amount really and in my opinion it would look better from scratch as it would definitely loose that 'kit' look.

Great work. Saved the pictures to copy it for my Mediterranean WW2 Greek front!
-
I puchased the farm set at Salute, and it is the next building for my Wargods collection.
I was pretty impressed by the finished model shown there, but now I am a bit pulled down to earth by your comments ???
Anyway, thanks for the useful information, I'll consider them when starting to build that model.
cheers Thomas

I’m possibly being overly critical (20+ years as a professional modelmaker) but given the hype they get I was hoping for more.

Fabulous mate, I really like the colours you have selected
Cheers
