I love the original (probably my second favourite Ghibli film) and from what I can see this seems to do it justice.

They definely have the look down, and the music is great. I find it very curious that they are copying shots from the starwars the force awakens trailer so closely for this one.

Looks good! Though I'm not generally in favour of live action adaptions (Some people seem to see animation as inherently inferior to live action and the live version as an upgrade which kind of gets up my nose a bit) but this looks like a quality attempt :)

Interestingly, there are quite strong ties between Brazil and Japan.
I do hope it goes ahead although I'd be interested to know what Miyazaki-san thinks of it :?

I know ;) (some of the in-laws are Japanese Brazilians).
I think he's seen enough fan-made stuff to be good natured about it, although I'm sure he'll politely decline the one on one meeting with a passionate fan lol
