Title: Early 16th C. French Gendarmes

Hi all!! I’ve painted some 16th century French Gendarmes for Khurasan Miniatures 15mm. I hope you like them! :)

Really beautiful. Amazing that they are 15mm; the details look like 28!

Really like the look of those. Still have numbers of Venexia, Blue Moon and some very old Rank and File to finish off myself.

That looks great - is there a clever trick to putting the stripes on the lances, or is it just careful, hard work?

Certainly hard work for me as I have shaky hands - so it requires a bit of retouching as I go and I don’t do a lot of them.

You could try a base colour, then add a thin strip of masking tape round the lance and painting over the exposed area. As long as the second coat is applied relatively thinly to prevent a ridge forming at the join, it works reasonably well for 28mm.
