My Barbarians for WoE.
I’ve gone for the caveman theme, as it fits well with the mammoth.
The terror bird is a child’s toy just with an ink wash and highlighted.
Most figures are Copplestone, thanks to Nick at North Star.
Chief is Savage core, as is the witch doctor.
GW wolves, (war hounds)
Bad Squiddo and Hasslefree also has a figure in there!
Thanks to those guys too, excellent service.
Trying them out for the first time on Wednesday...

Lovely work.
Very intimidating for anyone who comes up against the.
Great mix of figures :)
-
It’s a kind of homage to 1000000BC.
The crew of the mammoth are mostly young ladies. It’s the first time I’ve painted scantily clad maidens! :o

careful, you'll go blind....... 8)

I love that concept!
I may be a bit daft, but I have not been able to find that mammoth anywhere?
-
I meant to mention that!
It’s a UK company operating on eBay.
I’ve lost the contact details I’m afraid, but I’m pretty certain if you type in Warlords of Erehwon mammoth you’ll get to it?
It’s amazingly cheap too!
Needs a little bit of filler, but on the whole great value.

Great looking army! The bird and mammoth are really well done.

Thanks! I have some old Grenadier Copplestone barbarians I plan to start painting for a themed warband in the overseeable future, so it might come in handy ;)

Hah; same boat here! :D

That's an impressive looking army. The mammoth is suitably intimidating. That terror bird looks fantastic: I'd never have picked it as a kid's toy.
-
Thanks chaps.
Over the years I’ve painted foundry ancient Germans,
Grenadier Barbarians and now Cavemen, all sculpted by Copplestone.
All have a similar look and style, fortunately it’s one I love!
You could probably mix them all up with some minor conversions.

Fantastic! love the whole look!

Absolutely - have you seen the figs he has sculpted lately for Frostgrave? Must-have for fans of his sculpting style (they are all on my bucket list)!

What toy is the Terror Bird?
Grimm
EDIT Terror Bird is a Safari Ltd figure.
Amazon has em for 11 bucks.
-
It does look good though, doesn’t it?
If you’ve noticed the egg on the ground, that’s from Mantic games.
It’s out of the battlefield objectives box. I think it’s meant to be a dragon hatching out.
I’ve since painted up a ogre type figure which fits suitably with the cave man theme. I’ll use him as a large hero type.
I’ll post a picture at some point.
-
Great concept, excellent execution. Really love what you have done here!
-
Here is my ogre sized hero caveman!
I went for the Reaper guy because he was available at my local shop.
The giant is a £1.50 kids toy off eBay, just a bit of converting.
I’ve put a before and after shot in!
-
There’s also a cave teenager and cave brat for scale! lol

Added the giant and ogre
