These look excellent, they would be great additions to a TYW army.
Just curious why they are only available for a limited time though?
-
The French are the first set we will be producing for the Flint and Feather Contact 28mm Tabletop Skirmish game. Many of our customers have been waiting for these figures for some time so we are releasing one pack as a promotion and to provide these great customers with the ability to get some of the figures.
We will be running a Kickstarter for the game including a Rulebook, and figures for French, English and Dutch. So the figures will reappear at that time which will probably be next year before they are actually available.
Here are the figures that are available at this time.

This is great.Just ordered mine.If you go on Crucible Crush or Bob Murch's FB pages you can see the other French sets including Champlain.Any time table when the kickstarter will start? ;D :D

We are trying to get thru our Black Sun Kickstarter first and then run into the Contact Kickstarter. The thinking here is that we will have our work set for the rest of the year that way. So I would suggest the fall at this point in time.
The rules have already been playtested. They are just getting finished up. The system works right into the Flint and Feather rule set but with enough differences to introduce the alternate style of fighting of the Europeans in the New World.
We are looking forward to seeing the completed Dutch and English, Bob has been researching the period extensively to give the figures the proper feel.
-
Flint & Feather: Contact is still my #1 most anticipated thing of 2019... Although my 'small project to get ready' looks like it'll be most of this years output at this rate!
-
I've ordered a pack of these. It should be low enough to slip by Customs, and their predatory chums in the Post Office. I really should be doing more Wyndot first though ;D
-
We will be releasing some of the Contact rules, in order to allow you all to play the French in Flint and Feather, as a PDF on the website, on or about June 24. Keep an eye out for that.
It will include a scenario, The French Attack the Iroquois. Some French soldiers support their Huron allies in an assault on an Iroquois village.

That sounds good in the fall.I'm cutting back my collecting big time as I'm retiring (hopefully) in less than 2 years.I actually had all the F&F figures 2-3 years ago but sold them and regretted it afterwoods. Now this is all I'll be collecting ::).The europeans is what got me interested again.I don't game but hope to make a large diorama in my free time.I do have all the figures again and the book too to help support the range and because it's a beautiful book
Mark

Thanks Mark that is awesome!

Last call for French Matchlock Men.
-
Ordered :)

Thanks All!!

Thank You. :D

New book coming out in November. Hopefully it will focus on pre FIW period which I love but highly interested in 17th century also which hasn't been written about as much as the FIW period (1754-64).
Mark
-
I would love that too. However, having been disappointed many times, I am sure it will likely be, once again, about the FIW conflicts. Sigh.
-
Just received mine.Very nice figures. :D
Mark
-
Looks good. Where did you find hear about that?

About what?

About what?

:o I've just noticed this thread!
Very interesting... These figures are from Bob Murch so I suppose they are consistent in size with his other productions...?
...which means they could be mixed with figures from the Foundry old "Sea Dogs and Adventurers" range, which I use for War of Religions 1590s skimishes and which are slightly bigger/chunkier that many other late 16th century figures.
-
They fit beautifully
From the left: TAG (the Sea Beggars are fractionally larger), Foundry Swashbuckler, Flint and Feather French, Col. Bill Border Reiver (Vendel fractionally smaller than these), Warlord, Antediluvian zombie, classic Citadel Empire on booster, Foundry Conquistador
-
Very handy comparison, thanks - love those zombies! :D
-
Crucible Crush's Flint & Feather First Contact Kickstarter should be coming soon.
Mark
-
The French including Champlain.
Mark
-
Wow, they look lovely! Will definitely keep an eye out for the kickstarter.
-
I'll keep you posted. ;D
Mark
-
Some more pics.
Mark
-
More,
-
A couple more.Haven't seen any pics of the English and Dutch yet.
Mark
-
I exchanged emails with Bob a couple of weeks ago, and he very much gave the impression that the English had yet to be started... but that he had been busy amassing ideas :)
-
I guessed that but when he starts he really seems to knock out some figures fast. He's up in the arctic right now.
Mark
-
:o Someone makes a 17th C. jesuit priest for the Americas! At least! We've been waiting so long! Alléluia! :)
-
Kickstarter should be soon. In October I hope.
Mark
-
They look amazing :)
-
When they do the kickstarter I hope they have stretch goals or add-ons like Thunderbirds,Wendigo's,Swedes perhaps some Spanish.
Mark
-
Maybe this has been said earlier but when will the french be available for the general public to purchase?
-
They should be... once the kickstarter is done. They did a short time, limited release of the musketeers - but I believe this has passed.
-
Yes it has passed but it was only a few figures to whet your appetite. :D
Mark
-
When they do the kickstarter I hope they have stretch goals or add-ons like Thunderbirds,Wendigo's,Swedes perhaps some Spanish.
Mark
Well we've had French, Dutch, English and Algonquian Indians confirmed - given the French are set to be 4 packs (Matchlockmen, Adventurers, Soldiers I & De Champlains Companions) I am guessing the other Europeans will be about that number too. I am sure I saw a throwaway comment about Spanish being a possibility in the future, so they might well be a 'long range' stretch goal.
The webstore also lists the following sets as 'not-yet-available', so I'd guess some or all will be coming in the KS as addons or goals:
66005- Iroquoian Villagers
66007- Woodland Forest Animals Box Set
66008- Iroquoian Longhouse
67021- Iroquoian Shaman
67022- Iroquoian Healers
67025-Iroquoian Witches
67024- The Stiff Legged Bear/ Mastodon
67026- Black Bears
67027- White Tail Deer
67028- Wolf Pack
67029- Eastern Cougars
I doubt there will be too much more ontop of all that...
-
So, when exactly is this kickstarter for the four French pack going to start?
I have looked on the web site and found no mention of it. Eagerly looking
forward to getting the French.
-
I think that priest may have to find his way into my Seminole Wars stuff.
-
It was suppose to start in the fall.Crucible Crush had 2 kickstarters not get funded on their Black Sun project (But they are going to make the figures anyway which is good as they had some really nice figures for the range) so maybe they are working on some things to make sure F&F is a success.
Mark

I have heard October/November- it was originally scheduled for early summer before Black Sun 1 failed
-
That's what I heard.
Mark
-
In an earlier post it was said that CC would have on their site rules for the French and game information for the French.
I have gone to their sit and haven't seen anything. Did this information ever get posted? If so, where can I get it now?
Thanks

Mark
-
Thanks Marco,
That was exactly what I needed.
-
Glad to help.
Mark
-
Some painted French. :D
Mark
-
I contacted CC and found out some more information.
The kickstarter will be next year, January (?) and will be both French and English along with buying the rulebook.
I wasn't clear on the rulebook. I am thinking a new edition that includes the Europeans? Otherwise I already have the
rulebook and don't need to buy another one. Can't wait for these figures!
-
Suppose to be Dutch and Algonquin also. They must have cut it down somewhat.I was looking forward to getting the Dutch.I do like the fact that they are waiting until next year as it's getting close to the holiday season and that can wipe out a lot of income real fast.
Mark
-
I think there are additional rules for First Contact.
Mark
-
Those look great. I love the original natives that I bought, so will be likely to be buying these as well, once available.
-
No Dutch this time around. The stretch goals will be animals and mystic creatures.
-
I hope Wendigos and Thunderbirds. Disappointed no Dutch,I'll have to find them somewhere else, maybe TAG.
Mark
-
I agree. I would love to see some Dutch and then Swedes.
-
Yes the Swedes too. lol
Mark
-
Don't know why they are not doing the Dutch. They were originally planned in the kickstarter.
Mark
-
Basically they decided that a smaller KS had a better chance of being funded and they want to get them out. Dutch and Algonquins will follow at a later date (or as a late tier stretch goal if things go well).
Extra packs (starting with woodland animals and iroqoian villagers) will be unlocked as stretch goals, model by model
-
That's what I kind of thought the reason was after the failure of the Black Sun kickstarters. On a positive note for them Bob Murch's Dangerous Dames kickstarter has been a great success.
Mark
-
Pic of the first 2 Englishmen for the kickstarter. ;D :-*
Mark
-
Yay!!
-
They shall be mine
-
Bob Murch said he will probably sculpt them with more armor sometimes in antiquated equipment sent over to aid in their conflicts with indians.
Mark
-
I like them. Waiting for more to appear.
-
First finished sculpts for English in upcoming kickstarter
Mark
-
I have missed this thread somehow, the figures look very nice. I am tempted to add to the lead pile (yet again).
-
2 more English. :-* :-*
Mark
-
I have a set of Powhatans from Eureka and they fit pretty well with my F&F indians.
Mark
-
2 more! :D :D :D
Mark
-
So excited for these :)
-
Another little teaser.I think I'm going to really like these English.
Mark
-
The latest kickstarter,Dangerous Dames seems to be a big success for Crucible Crush and they are shipping the figures out so hopefully Mr.Murch will be able to sculpt the rest of the English and maybe other things and they can have the F&F kickstarter in July or August. Here's hoping. ;)
Mark
-
Now that I've just taken delivery of some F&F packs, I'm looking forward to the kickstarter.
-
I haven't heard nothing about the Kickstarter i quite a while.
Mark
-
I keep checking their web page and you still can't get the French and the English aren't even mentioned.
-
Bob Murch has done some sculpts which I posted pics in earlier posts. But he hasn't mentioned or shown anything in a while.
He was very busy getting the Dangerous Dames figures casted and sent out. Also he's been doing some Saxon and Norman figures he is interested in.His latest interest seems to be the Mexican Revolution. He has a lot of interests. lol lol
Mark
-
Thanks guys for keeping up the interest. Unfortunately the Dangerous Dames KS has soaked out Bob for the foreseeable future.
He is currently working on the English sculpts, as well as releasing some French Foriegn Legion. Those are thru Pulp Figures.
To answer some of your questions. He has started Algonquins, basically First Nations in more leathers and furs against the cold east coast weather.
He is also working on English.
The rulebook will be a supplement to Flint and Feather, you will be able to play standalone European forces against each other or use them in a Flint and Feather game. It will likely be a 72 page soft cover, very similar to our current Black Sun Rulebook.
Here is a video we have done about learning to play Flint and Feather. Please check out our Youtube channel which is Crucible Crush. https://youtu.be/1wYj_mRO-h8 (https://youtu.be/1wYj_mRO-h8)
This video is number one in a series. Turn Two is already in the can and we are working on the edits to complete the game.
We will have more information on the Kickstarter once Bob has finished his sculpting.

"Some of you have been asking after the Algonquin for Flint And Feather. Here is the first of them. I’m giving them a more hunting clothes look, buckskin, less ornamentation. Two sets are underway, bows and muckets but they aren’t the top priority at the moment as I need to prepare the English as much as possible in order to launch the Kickstarter."

This is one of those projects about which I'm planning to be a completionist. I'll be eagerly awaiting the upcoming KS.
-
I had everything that was released and been waiting over a year for the kickstarter but I've lost interest and sold everything. :(
Mark
-
...it's certainly been a while since the Contact kickstarter was mentioned. It sparked my interest, led to buying a few figures to support it... bought a few more and a few more and then my interest wandered off. Now it's been so long my interest has started to wander back - although more tempted by King Phillip's War...
-
Both Bob and I have been in the industry since the 80's. That is 1980's. Our projects and interests go back a long time. We are also working on our own company and our projects won't end. For instance the rules for our project, Flint and Feather came to us in 2015, we are still working on new things for these rules. You can be assured that we will be around and working on these projects for the next twenty years.
For instance the current Flint and Feather project Contact will be for English, French and Algonquins. We are also aware that Dutch and Swedish can be included in this phase of the project. They will take another year or so to get to. We have also discussed doing a prequel which would cover Vikings in America. So I guess what I am trying to say is that we will be working on this project for a long time to come. Please join us and enjoy the ride!
-
I've just started reading the People of the Longhouse - a pack of armed Indigenous women would be interesting. Unarmed Indigenous women and children would be useful, too, if only as objective markers.
-
A pack of civilians including women and children are being sculpted for the Contact Kickstarter

I'll probably still be interested when the kickstarter starts.I hate to admit it but I've bought the range twice :o lol .If I do get back into it ;) I'll probably be more selective as I really don't need the spirit creatures or the canoes. One never knows what comes in this hobby.

Superb. I'm sharing the link. :)
Personally I'll be mostly interested by the European figures which BTW could as well (for most of them) do in Europe and are probably compatible with the (also quite large) Foundry range which I use for late 16th C. Wars of Religion in Brittany ...Um that's probably not what you wish to hear in this case, but that's why I'll back the KS. ;)
-
We are now funded so all nine new packs are unlocked and available for a special price through the Kickstarter.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1313980061/flint-and-feather-contact/posts/3003458
If you only want packs of figures OR or if you want to add packs of figures to your Officer or Hero Pledge this listing is for you. You get to choose the packs you want, multiple this number by the $18cdn per pack. You can choose one pack, two packs, ten packs - as many as you like! Use this formula if you want multiple numbers of the same pack. This information will be gathered at the completion of the Kickstarter thru the Pledge Survey.
You are able to increase your pledge level to include any other packs that may be unlocked as stretch goals or Add-Ons throughout the campaign. As well, if you pledge over $125CDN you will receive access to any figures that open up as Stretch Goals plus one copy of the Special Edition Figure of Hendrick Wiltsie.

I have always wanted to do the English vs the Dutch in the new world.
-
Hopefully the Dutch will come next year. I thought the Algonquin were suppose to be in this kickstarter also. Perhaps a Dutch/ Algonquin kickstarter next year.
Mark
-
Kickstarter doing very well.
Mark
-
How does it work with the stretch goals? Are these for free if you pledge over 125 CAD?
-
No. I believe they are 18cdn per pack.
Mark
-
No. I believe they are 18cdn per pack.
Mark
Ouch, so it is a 18CAD Skunk... :o
-
I tnink the stretch goal animals are free over 125 CAD - they will eventually be clumped into packs for purchase (at 18 CAD for I guess 5-7 critters). This includes the settler civilians.
The unlocked packs of figures (French adventurers, English sword and buckler men etc) are 18 CAD a pack.
-
Ouch, so it is a 18CAD Skunk... :o
Sorry for the bad info. I read it wrong I guess.
Mark
-
All of the animals in the stretch goals are intended to eventually be in one $18 pack. The pack will have at least nine animals.
The civilians are intended for one pack as are the tools and implements.
-
Sorry for the bad info. I read it wrong I guess.
Mark
No worries - it's not exactly clear!
-
Thanks for the clarification! :)
-
Any thoughts on doing the Pequeot war or King Phillips war?
Pequot War would be cool.
Either way looks great and gladly backed it. Looking forward to the results.
-
Just to make certain that everyone understands, all unlocked stretch goals are free for backers over $124 Cdn. As is the special edition fig.
When the backer rewards have been sent out, the Animals, Civilians and Farming Cache Tokens will be grouped into retail packs at $18 USD per set.
-
Bob,
I went for the Figures only pledge not Officer Reward.I pledged more than 125cdn. Does that mean I get the stretch goals free too?
Mark
-

-
Love your stuff Bob. :-*
Mark

Yay!
All backers over $124Cdn now receive for free, The Snapping Turtle, The Skunk and both Beavers! Next up is the Fox Stretch Goal. Please help us get the word out so we can unlock even more Stretch Goals.

And the Fox is now included for all backers over $124 Cdn! Next up is the Raven.
-
Good morning. Having just binge-watched Barkskins ( yes I know it’s set about 70-80 years later than Flint and Feather) I am highly tempted. A few points of clarification if I may about the Kickstarter.
(1) Do you need the original rule book to play this game or does “Flint and Feather; Contact” suffice?
(2) If I pay in Canadian $ the book and models will both be shipped from UK and I pay UK shipping? I ask as I have recently been hit twice for bills of over £40 UK import duty bringing in stuff from across the Pond.
Thanks.
-
Pequot War would be cool.

I'm sure I read that pledges from Europe are fulfilled from the UK - Northstar I think - so no import costs. (If I'm wrong I'm sure Bob will correct me.) Personally, I'm already looking forward to receiving the figures. :)
-
Orctrader, thanks. I read the same . Just want to double check about both figures and rulebook. I am badly scarred by my recent shipping experience.
-

North Star will indeed be handling UK fulfilment for figures and rule book.

Another Stretch goal down. Thanks folks!

Just a few days left for the Flint & Feather Contact Kickstarter. We've nearly unlocked one full set of free figures. Once the Critters are done, its onto the Settler figs!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1313980061/flint-and-feather-contact/
-
If stretch targets with the funding not hit, will the PDF Campaigns be available by other means? Possibly could be an additional addon rather than a stretch goal?
-
The stretch goals, Pdfs etc will happen somehow. Just not as free bonuses in the KS.
-
North Star will indeed be handling UK fulfilment for figures and rule book.
Only UK? Or UK and EU?

Only UK? Or UK and EU?
Probably the EU but I can't say for sure I'm afraid. Brexit has complicated the situation.
