By places I am assuming you mean towns/cities. For me it is:

Llandudno
Penmaenmawr
Liverpool
St Helens
Formby
Hoylake
Reading
Newbury
Clevedon
Oxford
Abingdon

Some of those places only once or twice, others dozens of times.

I genuinely don't know .I've been gaming for over thirty years .
But I suspect if you broaden your definition of locations to include people's homes and show participation games. You'll be well past 200 locations.
I mentioned this to the Mrs and she clearly stated it was bad enough been dragged round museums on holiday. If I thought I was going to toddle off to play with toys on Her holiday . Then I could expect my anatomy to be radically altered with a rusty spoon.
So even if I could list every where I'd gamed. The last 23 years would not include anywhere exotic or near a beach lol

I studied there for a year and really had a great time. So, yes, a definite highlight.

Even though I've been gaming for almost 30 years now, when it comes to towns/cities, there's really not much variation. I usually play(ed) at my regular club (of the time), at my place or a mate's. I'm by no means a traveling gamer.

I mean; I travel, but much like Tin Shed Gamer up there, I'd rather avoid the (proverbial? I hope so) rusty spoon, and leave my gaming gear at home when going on vacation.

Story time:

Because the entire idea invokes a memory of this one saturday afternoon (somewhere 2003-ish?); I was browsing the GW blister racks at my local gaming store. I wasn't actively gaming at the time, just collecting and painting, and the local gaming community was largely unknown to me.

There were some young guys chatting about their 40K armies (one was a part-time staff member at the store), and in comes this slightly older guy, carrying two GW figure cases and proudly wearing his geek-aura as if it were a suit of power armour. I swear he had a bit of a swagger to him. They obviously knew each other, and from the deferential way the youngsters were treating him, I deducted he was the local gaming club's (grizzled?) veteran.

I couldn't help but tune in on their conversation whilst scanning the racks of miniature blisters. A conversation was struck up, detailing some stuff I forgot, but some of it had to do with the previous gaming night, in which the veteran had completely trounced some other gamer. They then discussed an upcoming tournament, which they wanted to attend. Then came the question if the veteran was going to play today. And the answer was; 'No, I'm going to (insert out of town location here; he was old enough to own a car), to play a 2000pt game.' (Much oohing and aahing) 'Yeah... it's 2nd ed' (More oohing and aahing; this was when 3rd ed 40K had been current for 5 years).

And at that, I got this image in my head of the guy; working a mindnumbing, low-tier job during the week, but in the weekend, he became some sort of traveling wargames ronin, roaming the land far and wide with his miniature cases, looking for worthy opponents to defeat.

(I later joined the local club, and even though he was the club's veteran who won almost every game, I kind of liked the guy. Disappointingly, he was no traveling wargames ronin; his meetup had been much more mundane. Also; I eventually ended up pitting my Dark Angels against his Night Lords and won... :D ).

So yeah; I'm more of a local gamer and my location list is therefore quite short:

Breda
Tilburg
Rhenen
Leiden
Utrecht
Amsterdam
Maastricht
Zwolle
Birmingham (yes; the UK one lol )

My 100 was individual venues but includes 17 (old school) counties in England, 13 in Scotland, a Swiss Canton and Portugese district.   Probably about 70 different towns.

I never game on  a proper holiday and take a 2 week break over Christmas.  On a few wargaming trips my wife has decided to come along (with the dog) so those turn into long weekends with a wargaming element.  Castles and museums are fair game on holiday though
