At Salute this year Ainsty Castings had available some of Watchful I Studio's ancient Chinese.
I picked a few different packs to see how they are.
I am very pleased with the sculpting and casting quality (despite a severe mold line across some of the heads :?) and assembling painting works fine for me too :).
I started with a small unit of light spearmen.

Great Job! I would be pleased to see more. Unfortunately you don't see a lot of these superb miniatures painted except the ones on the manufacturers homepage. So keep on going!!! ;) 8)

Nicely painted. Well done. Which state will these figures be for? I bought some from the kickstarter but they have been sitting on my lead mountain. Hopefully, I start to paint mine as I see your painted figures which will inspire me.

Nice coincidence, I ordered some test minis of the range last thursday.
Yours look great!

Thanks for your nice comments :)
There will be more to come as I have participated in the latest Kickstarter ;D
@ Hunlion: I have no particular state in mind, but have ordered a set of flags during the KS.
Colorwise I was inspired by the WAB "The Art of War" cover.
On the long run I'll also do a fantasy version with terracotta warriors, fu dogs and guardans of the underworld.

Looking forward to seeing that :)

Took a while, but now I managed a few pics of the other minis I purchased at Salute last year.
Now I am waiting for the Terracotta Kickstarter stuff to be delivered...
cheers Thomas
P. S. The missing banners will be in the KS delivery ;)

Nicely done :)
The poses look a bit samey, is there any other choice available?
-
The first sets all have this marching pose, however there are 3 kinds (heavy, light and levy) available and 5 or or so heads per type. The later sets (like the front row archers) have different poses, also some characters are availble.
I like the idea of an army on the march, although I is a bit a daunting task to do so many similar mins. ::)

Very nice work! Is the bamboo effect on the spear shafts painted-on?
-
I like those. A lot.
-
Very nice brush work on those. What did you use to glue the arms and heads on? I tried 5 minute epoxy and had some trouble with the arms.

Yes, it is painted I wasn't sure if it will look good, but I really like the outcome :)

It is a bit tricky due to the smalll gaps and surface sizes, but with the superglue gel I use it works quite well.
