Finished 3 x 48 of Burgundian pike, which will do for the time being, although one can never rule out doing a few more in the future! These are a mix of Perry plastics and metals, Foundry and a few venerable Connoisseur figures. Flags of War, Pete's Flags Perry's and a couple of homemade flags.
Moving on to the cavalry next!

Lovely :)

Oh wow, fantastic!
Cavalry next? Is this going to be a big project then?
Tell me more about the flags.... I'm wanting to get together some 'generic' Burgundian infantry flags myself which aren't associated with Charles the Bold (for the years after his death, the War of Burgundian Succession). Where did you get the white one with the red Burgundian saltire?
And are a few of them from the Perry plastic sets? I don't like the shiny card they come on, but was considering scanning them in and printing them out again on paper myself.
-
Thank you Charlie for your kind words- The white flag with the red cross (and the stripey ones) are from Flags of War. They have a "make your own" facility whereby you can customise colours with a few basic designs- frankly, its a BRILLIANT resource for more general medieval flags, and the quality is top notch.

I was the same as you as far as the Perry flags' shiny-ness, however, I tend to do a bit of shading and highlighting on them anyway, and/or give them a wash. Then once you matt varnish them, they come out matt. Given that you get so many of the things in the plastic sets I suggest you just experiment a bit although I'm sure if your resolution is good enough re-printing would be fine.
Steel Fist miniatures also do some lovely saltire flags for Burgundian Landsknechts which I have just ordered

Great looking group.
-
Excellent work! And nicely done on the homemade flags too, they're looking fantastic! Keep up the great work, can't wait to see how your cavalry turns out!
-
Wow, now that is what all pile blocks should look like. Lovely work and I look forward to seeing the cavalry.
-
Beautiful, but watch your fingers on the pikes . 😎
-
Those are great, they really have the 'captured in mid movement' look for sure, kudos.
I'd hate to accidentally put my hand down on those though :)
Thanks

amazing work! I love all the stances... you'll need to give a lesson to anyone who plays with them on how to move them properly so they don't break all the pikes with their sausage hands!
-
Flaming heck! :o
That's quite a hedgehog.
Very impressive :-*
-
Fantastic job there they look utterly fearsome and beautifully painted
-
Impressive and spectacular! So great variety of postures and so neat painting!
And cinema-like pictures! Great! :-*
-
That is very impressive. :)
-
Thank you!
The first units of Coustilliers and foot Knights are finished now, a bit of basing and I値l put some pics up after the weekend.
-
Costilliers, first 24. I値l be doing at least another similar sized unit, although they will often make up the back rank(s) of the gendarmes.
Plus a unit of foot knights, a mixture of Perry and Steel Fist miniatures - both equally beautiful sculpts.
-
:o Amazing work! The Perry and Steel Fist foot knights blend really seamlessly too! Keep up the fantastic work!
-
Might and beauty :-*
-
Lovely work on the pike units.
-
Great work and project. The pikes especially looking amazing
-
Brilliant. Some lovely creations there, and great painting :-*
-
Fab stuff 8) 8) 8)
Kind Regards
-
Very nice army you have there.
-
Fantastic looking set of figures. I really must slap some paint on mine. What rules are you intending to use?
-
Thank you,
Undecided at present, initially was going to go with Swordpoint but they have a few flaws, currently leaning towards pike and shotte but not definitely.
In my wisdom I致e decided I want the pikes 8 deep rather than 6 ranks...so I知 adding back ranks to these blocks .....wargamers. ;D
-
Not managed an update lately, but I have busy, I値l add in a few more units I致e finished over the next week or 2
First up, some cute little mounted archers
-
Only just found this thread, these are incredible. The pike block in particular, it looks incredibly spiky, and very much like the period illustrations or art showing pike blocks.
-
It's all splendid stuff.
-
Some crossbows- plastics with the odd metal head
-
Very nice.
And particularly nice basing, and scenic backdrop!
-
Some Italian Crossbow allies.
Perry plastics with some metal heads and the odd warlord arm
-
Nicely done! They look great all together!
Though, I have to admit, I did laugh at the guy waving at the camera! lol

If you look carefully, he's actually telling the chap behind to go forth and multiply!
Nicely done, Mr Cornwell!
-
Nice, they look really good!
-
Some Swiss pike enter the mix
-
That's a helluva lotta pike! Really impressive looking.
-
Lovely work :-*
