Title: Couple of questions about hounds in ROSD.
Post by: emosbur on August 02, 2019, 06:03:24 PM
Hi all, I've got a couple of doubts about hounds in ROSD:

Page 57 says that animal companions canīt carry items, treasure tokens neither interact with other types of tokens. But can hounds interact with clue markers? My opinion is yes, they can, because they are "markers", not "tokens". English is not my mother language but I think the wording confirms what I say. Furthermore, hounds are natural trackers so they are an obvious choice to seek clues. Real hounds can find people or corpses, for instance.

Page 61 says that a ranger making a tracking roll with his hound within 2" receives a +2 bonus to the roll. May this hound be any hound or must be a bloodhound?.

Thanks.

Milo.

Yes, hounds can interact with clues.

The ranger tracking bonus is only for the bloodhound, it's mentioned in the 'notes' section for the bloodhound and not for the other two.
