Here at North Star we've been selling hundreds and hundreds of copies of Gaslands over the past two years. It's a bit popular isn't it?
We also enjoy playing, in fact I think there will be chaotic 6 player game next Thursday.
When Gaslands Refuelled was announced, I thought 'why don't we do something for it?' There's loads of great stuff produced by people for the Gaslands Hobby, but not much in plastic. People like modelling in plastic, and we have been producing plastic figures for the past 5 years now, so I thought 'lets do it'.
So to celebrate Gaslands Refuelled, we'll be launching the Implements of Carnage, a plastic frame of weapons, figures and armour. You will be able to buy it on it's own for £5, but we'll be giving one away free with every copy of Gaslands Refuelled preordered from us.
The preoder program will begin on the 16th of August. There will be an Early Bird offer, so make sure you jump in straight away. The offer will end when the book is available, around the 19th of September.
Unfortunately, I don't think the frame will be ready before the book is with us. That means our preorders will probably leave a week later than other suppliers. If you are the guy who 'has' to have his book before anyone else, we'll not be the people to order from.
Hope you join us in this project.
Nick

PS We're planning to offer templates, dice, tokens etc as well.

What a great idea. Can't wait to get my hands on a couple of these frames.
-
Ooh, 1/64 scale, or something else?
-
There's even bikers on there! :-*
So far, I've been scratch building a lot of features, combined with some resin parts originally from a Devil's Run conversion pack, but plastic bits would be several shades of awesome! 8)
I'll be pre-ordering for sure... :D
-
That is a cracking idea!
I never did play Dark Future properly, only the 'race game' version, but certainly enjoyed making a few cars.
That frame would be like a serious nostalgia trip for a lot of people, even if they do not want to play Gaslands.
Would the frame be available on its own at some point, as I could see you selling quite a few....?
-
They are nominally 20mm, but what we actually did was scale them to 'look cool on hotwheels cars'. Yes, that technical lol
The frame will be available on it's own straight away, so you won't need to buy the book from us to get one. But if you buy Gaslands Refuelled, you'll get a free frame as well.
We're also planning to add an extra Motorbike (in resin) for the Early Bird preorder customers.

Yeah, but it'll wait for the book, as postage to the Netherlands will most likely be as much as one of those frames, so better consolidate... ;)

Ah, perfect then, there may be some handy bits. I'm building up a fleet for Wacky Races (for Maximillian 1934, aka Wacky Max 1968) using the 1/72-ish plastic cars from CMON's board game, and then kitbashing another fleet for Tom Slick crossovers.
-
I've been playing with some of the 3D copies of the Implements of Carnage. The sizes and detail will be improved on the actual plastics.
-
Got the cars painted this afternoon. Very serviceable. I'll plan out and take more time on the next one I do.
-
We've added Gaslands Skid Dice to our catalogue. These are available now.

Nice!
Having bikes, and guns and extra bits all together is great. I found various bits in my bits boxes, but the more the merrier!
-
I've wanted to get gaslands, I think this may be the tipping point.
-
I've wanted to get garlands, I think this may be the tipping point.
I feel the same, knocking up stuff from nothing is fun, but this gives some bits to start off with. Great work Nick.
The bikers are a nice touch too.
-
Is Brigade doing this for those of us in the States?
-
Yes, drop Lon a message. it all kicks off Friday.
-
I've got an Early Bird offer starting this Friday.
If you order in the first week, we'll add a unique metal motorbike to your order. It's a metal version of the one that is on our plastic frame.
-
Awesome stuff! Great idea!
Edit: Will Brigade Games in the US have this as well?
-
Yes

-
Good idea to produce a plastic frame :)
-
And my pre-order is in! :D
I ordered for a mate as well; now we'll have to squable over who will get the metal bike. I guess we'll have to race for it... lol
-
I'm in. Also got me some Rangers of Shadowdeep stuff too.
-
Nice looking frame Nick.
Daft question, as I seem to have been in a cave for the last 2 years, but are these similar scale to the Dark Future game?
The reason I ask is that I’ve just found a box full of Dark Future figures & bikes in my games room that I’d completely forgotten about...
;D
-
Gaslands is normally played with toy cars that are around 20mm ‘scale’
-
Hi Akula
Yes, Gaslands is Dark Future 2019 lol
Hilariously the dark future (1988) was 1995. Then pushed to 2021.
Your DF cars and bikes are perfect.
-
Bought the first edition.
The Templates and dice are exactly the same?
The Refueld HC Book sounds good but really hope the dice and templates havent changed...
Can you confirm that Nick?
Thank you
Florian
-
Same dice and templates.
That's why it's called refuelled, it's not a rewrite of the game, but more a new print run with lots more extra 'stuff' in there.
I think some of the differences are in the points, and if you were to race against someone who had Refuelled they'd have an edge over you with the new sponsors/ perks etc that have been added.

-
So it's basically like Gaslands with TX1 to TX4 added then?
-
I think so. 'Course it's not my game, it's Ospreys. I've not been involved with the game design at all.
-
Finaly ordered lol

Our Kev Dallimore has been playing around with the Implements of Carnage.
-
I'm having a play this afternoon, I want to try a turret mounted minigun, see how much I can cheese off the other drivers.
This is my third car in Team Blue.
-
Those sprues are already proving to be utter gold; can't wait to get my hands on them.
Your blue team car is starting to look really good. 8)
I take it some battle damage is in the works? Because right now it's looking fresh out of the shop, and we all know cars don't look like that for long on the tracks... :D

Too bad you cannot order a specific car. Really love the buggy on the far left of the picture with rocket and blue painted tip.

Can we add random other bits and pieces to our order? (to consolidate shipping)
Cheers
-
Yes, no probs. Plenty have.
-
It's the last day of our Implements of Carnage pre-order offer. The lines get cut off at Midnight tomorrow. Don't leave it too late!!
For everyone who has ordered, the frames haven't arrived yet. We're all sat by the phone waiting for the factory to ring to say 'they're on the way'. Any time now!

We got a new addition to our Gaslands range.
Every game has to have Race Gates, and so Sarissa Precision have designed some. This is a laser cut MDF kit, supplied unbuilt and unpainted. The pictures here show them built and painted.
You can order here: http://www.northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=14151 (http://www.northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=14151)

The Gaslands/ Implements of Carnage offer has ended now.
HUGE thank you to everyone involved, we now have the mammoth task of sending them all out.
The Implements of Carnage frame isn't with us yet, I'll post here when it is (Wednesday finger crossed).
Thank you all as well for your patience. I know the rulebook is already getting out there and people are showing them off online, it's frustrating for us as well that we can't start sending them out now.
-
News for North Star customers, the factory making the Implements of Carnage have said the frames will be with us early Friday, so we'll be shipping then. YEAH!!
-
YEAH!!
-
We're shipping. Yeah!! lol
1/2 the orders left today. The rest we'll get out in Mondays post. Hurrah!
-
I know I'm biased, but our Implements of Carnage frame is brilliant. lol

The book and frames arrived today, from a quick look they look good!
-
Are there any backers in the continental EU who have received their book and frame ? Still waiting in Belgium.
-
Not yet, but eagerly awaiting... :D
-
Gaslands Refueled was sitting on Stan's bookshelf in the background of a scene in the latest episode of South Park. :o
-

Those are some smart looking rides :)
-
My book(s) and sprues arrived, so there's two happy racers on this end :)
Oh; and we got two metal bikes in the box too, so no need for an all or nothing race-off to decide who gets to own it. We're now looking into other reasons... :D
-
I never received the metal bike. Was that if you ordered early? Pretty sure I was in that timeframe.

I did not received one, too. I've sent a mail to mailorder with my order number and date, got a quick reply saying they will send out one to me.

Check the box again. I didn't think I received one either, but it was wrapped inside some of the newspaper. Easy to miss. Luckily trash hadn't been taken yet.

Thanks for the tip - I had forgotten that I should have gotten one. I found it among the packaging chips (I keep these to reuse them).
-
Checked the box again. Unfortunately nothing. I don't an email and will get a new one. :)
-
I received mine today :)
