Hi gents,
Last week we played Bergen with Honours of War rules.

After the French capturing Frankfurt, Ferdinand of Brunswick decided to make a long march with the intention of cutting de Broglie's communications.
De Broglie was bivouacked near the village of Bergen. He fortified the town and his deployment was such that Ferdinand assumed that Bergen was occupied by only some 2 to 3,000 French troops and decided for a quick attack without artillery.

I envy your presentation skills and command of the English language, Dinos . I can barely say “ good morning “ or “ good evening “ in Greek 😁 . I enjoyed reading your AAR and photos , also the link to the Wiki site . I have downloaded the free Murat maps and have followed the campaign using them . There are few things guaranteed to lift the spirits more than the sight of a French S.Y.W army advancing across the table in their varied uniforms with their flags fluttering in the breeze . Vive le Roi !

Dear friend, I'm happy it was your second game under Honours of War rules and you did very well!
I tried to set up Bergen as historically as possible, the French positions were impregnable indeed.
I'm not thinking about some kind of revenge, as in the next game I may take the French and you the British :D

Glad to see the French winning! Poor chaps got a bad rep because of Rossbach, but usually the gave as good as they got.

De Broglie's defensive plan was perfect, in conjunction with Ferdinand's impatience to attack, the result of the battle couldn't be different.
On the contrary, in Rossbach, the French made whatever mistake they could to lose the battle in 90 minutes.
