If I was to do a "What if" game with Turkey being a part of WW2.
Could anyone suggest possible figures and what would the uniforms look like?
Thanks

Not sure what figures - that cap's quite distinctive.
-
It looks almost like the Japanese cap. But bear in mind, in action these guys would have helmets and do this comfortable looking march -

It's not a million miles away from French uniforms.
-
Thanks guys. What figures would work?
Do you think either Japanese or French?
-
If it was me, I'd go French and if you need an officer's cap, just do some minor conversion with greenstuff.
-
I don't know what scale you're working in, bigger scale implies more detail on the figures. Most WWII Japanese infantry are modeled with wrapped puttees, and the WWII Japanese pot helmet had neither brim nor ridge.

Are WWI Austro-Hungarians any good for this?

I would be doing it in 20mm.

So... Adrian helmets, tunics, Mauser rifles and 6 pouch and German style ammunition pouches?
Might I suggest these might fit the bill? Probably as close you are likely to get, off the peg, so to speak.

You would want to paint or maybe convert the riding boots to knee length gaiters but otherwise, pretty close IMO.
I am currently painting some Kromlech infantry. Very nice figures, realistically proportioned and finely detailed. Match up height wise with and are nearest in heft to Paul Hicks sculpts and Eureka’s WW2 ranges.
Not that it matters much, as they would be unlikely to be mixed with other figures.
-
Sorry missed the 20mm bit. :-[
I have seen photos of Turks pre war in puttees. So the Eureka 28mm Interwar Chinese might work. I have also seen photos of Turks, post-war in British MkI tin hats.
-
That is okay Carlos. I thought they would work too until I saw they are 28mm.
It would appear that I have got some options. French, Austrians, Polish cavalry if
dismounted. The search continues!

Why not stick to historical and do either Iraq or Iran?
