Needed zome rest after the LPL, so I thought I'd just as well start building the World Works stuff I got on my birthday. I Plan to have a few buildings ready before the next zombie game :)
Both are still work in progress, but should be finished in the weekend.

Nice stuff. A friend of mine swears by the Worldworks buildings.

With the appartment block on the left it is only possible to put minis on the top floor. Though that one was just build as you normally get it. The next one that I will put together will probably have different floors that can be accessed.
The warehouse of which I will post a few more picture tonight, is already better. First off , I mounted it on foamboard, secondly I used.. euhm.. Damn, don't know the english word... well these things:

To keep the walls together without glueing them. The end result is that I can also take the building apart easily and store it without it taking up too much space. Also very nice is that you don't see the metal things because the roof (which can easily be removed) lies on top of them.
I'll probably use the same techniques when/if I build the mall.

Which kit are they from as they are generic enough for me to use for a UK setting.

I know the 3 story building is from Bits of mayhem set. It's a "hollywood flat" with no interior but can be easily modified to incorporate one. The warehouse is from the mayhem industrial set and has a fully detailed interior.
I'm interested in details of your aseembly technique. I've built several buildings but I am rapidly running out of storage space.

Indeed those are the building sets. I think Mayhem Industrial:

are the most usefull if you try to build some buildings generic for towns. Especially those with brick and mortar buildings.

Finally got back home and had time to take pictures of how I contructed the warehouse and the inside:
Here you can see two thing, first you can clearly see how the wall are being kept together and secondly, you can see how I put the walls together. I just remove 5 mm of foam backing from one of the walls, so they fit easily together. In this fashion you also enlarge you building by adding more walls.

you push these things on the top and bottom of the walls et voila one solid building. What I didn't do, but is and option is to even push them through the base (which is also foam board) andlock everything into place.

I just glued some paper to the side of the foam of the roof, so if I put it on top it anchors everything even more and you won't see the foam. The nice thing is, these strips are actually in on the print outs :)

Nice work on the buildings. Definitely will use the idea of the U-shaped brads to hold walls together. Where did you get the sidewalks? They really help round out the look of the building to me.

the U-shaped brads
Staples. Fencing staples, to be exact.

Thanks for the interior pictures and explanation of the construction technique. I'm going to have to pick up some U-shaped staples and try your technique on my next building. You may have solved my 28mm building storage issue.
