Title: Llewellyn the Great,28mm suggestions please.
Post by: Romark on September 23, 2019, 02:00:48 PM
Hi,
I've just returned from a short trip to North Wales and visited several of Llewellyn's castles,Dolbadarn,Dolwyddelan and Castell y Bere included.
As you can imagine I'm now thinking of painting up some 28mm minis for his battles and skirmishes.
I'm not up on this period of military history so would appreciate any pointers for  28mm figure ranges I could investigate.
Thanks in advance  :)
Edit.
Would the new Barons War kickstarter stuff be suitable ?

The period is certainly correct-ish, so I’d have to imagine that the Baron’s War miniatures would be suitable as English opponents, if nothing else.

I really don’t know anything about Welsh armies of the time, though, and how they would have differed in appearance from their English counterparts, if at all. Sorry.

Ant figure from the early 13th Century with a giant green-stuff tache attached  lol

Actually, 1st Corps have some new knights.  I am not sure if they are right for your period but they certainly look the business.  And with the faces exposed you could (if you really wanted) add a nice tache!
