Title: Don's Mortal Gods
Post by: DonVoss on September 30, 2019, 08:46:47 PM
Ive plaed a couple of games of Mortal Gods. I like the rules and how the Phalanx is working.
So far I lost all my games... but had a lot of fun....;)

After playing with lots of Hoplites I thought of going a bit out of the mainstream.
A friend gave me some crusader Thracians...very nice miniatures and I had a few Foundry girls laying around.

A few of the coats are already done...

Next is the leader of the pack and 1 or 2 riders.

Cheers,
Don

Looking forward to seeing more.

Thanx gentlemen.

I managed to paint 3 more models for the thracians. Warlord, Healer and one tribal horse.

The minis are fun to play, but have to few life points. I think this will be fixed in the upcoming officila release of the faction cards....;)

We even managed to game a little siege game...:)

Painted a standard bearer for my thracians.

Perhaps a little to heavy on the highlights...:)

There are no rules for standard bearer at the moment in Mortal Gods...but I like scenario based games. Here he could play a role....;)

Don

At this years Tactica I presented Mortal Gods with a friend.
We would pit two rivalbands of hoplites gaainst each other on a rocky board with an intact temple.

To start I had to paint a few more Foundry hoplites with some of the very cool Mortal Gods shields.

(http://i.imgur.com/LFSuDjOl.jpg) (https://imgur.com/LFSuDjO)

Perhaps a little bit too uniform but good for a convention game.

Casualtys and small stuff...

(http://i.imgur.com/bsMhStYl.jpg) (https://imgur.com/bsMhStY)

And a barrel for Diogenes.

(http://i.imgur.com/F3NMAael.jpg) (https://imgur.com/F3NMAae)

And as a quick job I scratch builded an oil press.
First I broke one of my old brushes and scrachted a little styrofoam.

(http://i.imgur.com/rT6VAHNl.jpg) (https://imgur.com/rT6VAHN)

Glued together.

(http://i.imgur.com/NSQ0FdYl.jpg) (https://imgur.com/NSQ0FdY)

And put some filler on it..

(http://i.imgur.com/1DLmb27l.jpg) (https://imgur.com/1DLmb27)
Added sand and paint....;)

(http://i.imgur.com/5SaEqu1l.jpg) (https://imgur.com/5SaEqu1)

...stay tuned.

And here are a few pics of the board I builded. Sorry move these if you find it more suitable for the workbench.

First I cut 2 foamboards adn some rough hills on the sides. Added lots of stones and bark.
The walls are build stone b stone...

(http://i.imgur.com/CcQVDYsl.jpg) (https://imgur.com/CcQVDYs)

Added lots of sand...

(http://i.imgur.com/JzJbRh5l.jpg) (https://imgur.com/JzJbRh5)

And then some colour.

(http://i.imgur.com/FDYKWn0l.jpg) (https://imgur.com/FDYKWn0)

Drybrushing and the lots of Inks und Washes on the rocks.

(http://i.imgur.com/Mt04w2vl.jpg) (https://imgur.com/Mt04w2v)

On top of the tempel I added a bigger hoplite from MINI Art....;)

(http://i.imgur.com/unE5cVUl.jpg) (https://imgur.com/unE5cVU)

And thats how it looked when finished...

(http://i.imgur.com/95Ge7kVl.jpg) (https://imgur.com/95Ge7kV)

Needed a few more trees and rocks on the playing field.
