I had a chance to proof read the new supplement for Maximillian 1934. There are rules for using the Eureka monowheel in races. Apparently they were being engineered in the 1920s until they realised braking was very inefficient against so much angular momentum.

That, and with excessive acceleration or decelaration they were prone to 'gerbilling'.
