...or what we're calling it for now.
Last night was another playtest for our rules for playing larger scale Fistful of Lead games. We're trying to keep the same mechanics for the most part, so that players familiar with FfoL can jump right in to larger battles.
For this run through I dug out a fraction what used to be my GASLIGHT armies. An Anglo-French army was battling a German force for control of a key crossing. At the end of six turns we checked to see if night had fallen.
I present the Battle of Spikey Helmets

You being sarky or are we actually going to get you to play VSF with us?
-
I'm interested. Want to hear more.
May I suggest an easier 'working title' of FISTS full of lead. (FsFoL)

Not interested in the VSF bit - very interested in how FFOL expands into a game involving more than 6 or 7 figures per side :)

Great FUN rules, expanded to get even more toys on the table.
Deep joy.

excellent paint job and mise en scene :o

We'll get Richard playing. Trying some Medievals soon. Maybe we can compromise and do some Leonardo-Tech type games?
Flapjack- plenty of other stuff coming too. Got some new genres to dive into, along with revamping old titles and campaign books. Keep an eye out first of the year.
Has.been- Brand naming convention is always "Fistful of Lead: Title".

Just picked up the entire PDF collection tonight, just scanning through it now, looks great!
I would really, really, like to add a big battle book to the collection.
The AAR looks great!
It is just the thing to get my VSF troops back into action.

Thanks for the purchases!

Am also experiencing Deep Joydibold. (in the words of Stanley Unwin)
One question to Baron J: I noticed your units were all singly based, will the big battle rules work with multibased figures? Has it been tried ?
-
Vodkafan. I would suggest Sabot bases, but I know how much you dislike them...
Hang on, if you base stuff on transparent bases (like your lovely, but doomed, GA team)
& buy some see through Sabot bases (from our lovely Oshiro) it might just work for you.

Stop by Salute and find out! I’ll be running a samurai battle for Oshiro modelterrain using his terrain and multi-based miniatures.

Will do!

People are starting to figure out the concept that you just swap single miniatures for a base or stand of miniatures and works exactly the same.
In my mechanics battles, for instance, I have bases of 6mm infantry that act just the same as single miniature.
