My newly painted 'Blood and Plunder' Dutch are all at sea .. er, all at spa ... on a Printable Scenery ship in the latest posting on my blog: https://arteis.wordpress.com/2019/11/17/dutch-force-for-blood-and-plunder-really-afloat/
Here are a couple of sample pics from the above link:

That looks fantastic. It should be great fun to use. How did you get the terrific faded wood effect...the grey, the blue and the red? I have been too afraid to paint mine until I was able to figure out how to paint mine so it looked similar. Thank you in advance.

Block in the colours first, then use several increasingly lighter coloured coats of dry-brushing, and then finish with the barest hint of a white dry-brush.

Great colors on your ship.
Really well done.

Thanks Arteis. I will give it a go.

I really like the militia with the green coats. Looks great!

Very well done. What type of 3d printer do you have? (I noted that Printable Scenery sells the files for download).

I've had a couple of very short nights and end to end meetings for several days, so I'm not at my sharpest, but is that a gaming model with miniatures on it, actually afloat in a hot tub??
Because that's some next level stuff...
The painting is lovely at any rate, and anything Dutch has my immediate stamp of approval, obviously.
I'm working on a couple of Playmobil pirate ships at the moment (which can technically be kept floatable too, come to think of it...), and I'm definitely taking notes in regards to the paint jobs and detail on your ship (I need to scratch build a LOT to make my toy boats presentable ::) ).
And I will certainly make it so that I can switch out the colours on my ships, so they can not only fly English or Spanish flags, but can also raise the black, or Dutch flags... 8)

That is stunning bud!!

@DeRuyter: I didn't print it myself (I have no skills in that area). It was actually printed by Printable Scenery themselves, so I don't know the printer they used. I painted and rigged this ship for them to take overseas to demo at some shows in America.

@Daeothar: I've floated it in my swimming pool too!

Talk about floating a new idea by us.....that's so wildly cool!
"Please children, do not try this at home" - oh wait, everyone outa the pool!
