Excellent band can almost hear them.

The sharp shooters are pretty good, but the blues band is such an oddball novel idea, also well painted and staged. What is the story behind the band?
Kudos to both, excellent work.
Thanks

Back in the days we ran the 100 Club (similar to Kickstarter) we received a request for a 1920's Jazz Band.
Customers signed up and we made them. Alan Marsh, the sculptor is an early jazz fan, so all the figures are based on real jazz players of the early 1920's.

This really was a difficult one to vote on, but I too was charmed by the musicians (actually, I wish I could get a harpsichordist and a flautist for my Prussian baggage train).

As Nic said they were a 100 club release back in 2013. Really nice clean sculpts. The lead singer is Bessie Smith. Empty bed Blues is her album cover that the sculpted pose most resembled. I listened to quite a bit of the various artists on spotify this last week or two. It was a nice change of pace to paint too. :)

She's a good singer in reality too. And Kitchen Man may be the lewdest song ever to get past the censor.
-
No kidding! Once you learn what the slang used in the songs means... wow.
-
Two great entries - That band is a brilliant composition with the art deco backdrop
-
Eureka make a flautist and clavichordist too in our Civilians range.
